We moved an hour south in November. I kept eBay off line for a few weeks, then I changed the addresses on my accounts -- two accounts, I think six addresses per account on the page that came up for address changes. I checked my listings and saw my new city under item location. Then I made no new listings for about five months as we dealt with Cliff's medical issues. In April I listed a few new items, and a few more in May. Just had a question about shipping on a newly listed item, questioning its weight (and it was off by 1 pound) and in the process of fixing that listing found my old location as item location.
That got me reviewing all my listings. Listings that "moved with me" are fine. 90% of the new listings had my old location, even though all my receipts (other half of label) show my correct current address. Why 10% of my newly listed items end up with the correct location is a mystery, perhaps through a Sell Similar, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, "item location" must be pulling information from somewhere other than my updated address. Anyone know where to look?

Item location for "Sell similar" would pull along whatever location was in the original listing. You have to change the item location right on the listing form. Some sellers ship from multiple locations, so the listing form isn't automatically linked to your official eBay lists of addresses. But then if you do "Sell similar" from a corrected listing, the new ZIP Code should carry over.

But a brand new listing, like a vintage wooden kitchen tool with no like items from which to do a Sell Similar, is still picking up my old location from somewhere in the bowels of eBay. I have never, before having to fix listings with the bad location, entered a location on a listing. It is just being automatically populated from somewhere. Presumably the postage is calculated using an address from some other data field because I haven’t YET seen an issue there (although just an hour’s drive difference is perhaps not far enough to impact postage price).
