I need to list an item as used. Its an aftershave that has some missing from bottle but in the conditions field, I dont have that option.
Anyway to fix this?

You can't list used aftershave, has to be new.

You cannot list "used" toiletries, perfumes, make up, etc. I would end the listing.

Thanks, I just discovered that. Good to know moving forward

I posted this in 2022.........
There has been an ongoing discussion for years about whether it's "ebay legal" or not to sell used/open perfumes......this is a quote from today's podcast.....from Griff.........
Griff: Some of the examples in my I collection are really, really old. Like they're from the fifties, forties, even the thirties and some are bottles that are half full from either evaporation or maybe they've been used. Those I cannot list in health and beauty for fragrances categories because they would be considered used. And that category for condition was edited out last year to exclude any used condition.
Brian: Why did we do that?
Griff: Well, it has something to do with the FDA regulations on used cosmetics. You're not supposed to sell them. And unfortunately this makes me furious is that perfumes are considered in there. So eBay was proactive, making sure that they weren't violating FDA guidelines. And so they eliminated the used category from the Health and Beauty fragrances, but there's another category that you can list these in. In collectibles, it's called Vanity Perfume & Shaving Collectibles. That would mean another listing template for that category.

Those are really supposed to be empty bottles in that category, despite Griff's hinting that it might be okay. eBay can't overrule the FDA.

He doesn't hint at it, he lists in that category for used/opened perfumes......and has for years and states that's the reason the category was initiated..... There is a bottle subcategory.....but the subcategory used is "other perfume collectibles".

I never buy new aftershave, I always wait for a sale when I can get half a bottle that somebody else has already used.

As dhbookds said, citing eBay's Griff (who I believe not too long ago reaffirmed this on his podcast), you can sell it if it is in the correct category.
Here are some recent solds, identified as "used" in that category:
Considering that sometimes this stuff can be bought for a dollar or two at estate sales, it is no surprise that many resellers see it as a profitable category (as always, IF you know which specific items to look for, and which to avoid)
