So................
On all these category changes today - when you go to what used to be Dolls & Bears and then there were many, many choices for a category and now there is just 1. (Like Curly in the movie - "1")
ALL of the item specifics that I spent days and hours refining - they are ALL gone. Nothing there - poof, see ya, nada, GOODBYE............
Are they putting these BACK into the listings and today is JUST a transition or am I about to have to re-new my Friendship with Mr Belvedere??? And in the meantime, search is just "search" with no refinements and no way probably anyone will find these Holiday Barbies I worked to be politically correct on?

Hey @katzrul15! You should be seeing item specifics come back, and most so by tomorrow. Please keep in mind that it can take up to a week for everything to complete processing though.

"who" do we ask as a blue?
In the spring mess - most item specifics for Holiday/Seasonal did morph back over, but for Action Figures, most of ours did not.
"Need" them to come back. Please. (I'll even share the belvedere)

I have the same question. I worked so hard adding items specifics AS RECOMMENDED!!!! Over 1700 postcards currently listed. I feel so stupid. And I recently added CONTINENTS...
I hope it is just a transition period.
And postcards category is now starting "postcards and supplies" then topographic and non topographic. What the heck an antique 100 plus years or vintage 1940's postcard has to do with supplies????

Hi! We're in the process of adjusting categories like this from concept-based categories to more dynamic product-based categories and things are going to look a little off while the move is in process, but rest assured, we expect everything to be back to running as you'd expect within a few days.
The end-goal is to actually cause less disruptions like this, as we shift towards utilizing Item Specifics more and unique subcategories less, and we're confident in that outcome. We appreciate your patience in the meantime though @katzrul15!

I am not sure. But like you, it would be nice to know what to "expect" to happen next. The unknown is a little un-nerving today.

Thanks for the prompt reply to the post.
What will happen to new listings? I launched new listing earlier today and there were no items specifics to enter as usual: region, city, format, era, etc...
I am wondering how you are going to update the specifics on new listings.
Should I stop launching new listings until the listing page is updated?

Could you please let us know the answers to the 2 posts above? Thank you!

How do item specifics that have been deleted by the system get recreated? I've never heard of that happening. In my experience once an item specific in a listing is gone, it's gone for good until it gets recreated by the seller.

This smells like the current federal administration. Fixing things are we? Been doing this for 21 years. Why, oh why do the kids in charge of ebay have to change things constantly? My customers hate it and so do I. There are other places to sell my wares. I know that you all know whats best for us little pions.

I am noticing the same thing. If this is the new search methodology it is awful. You can't find anything when buying and I imagine it will be particularly difficult for buyers to find items we are selling.

f they knew this was going to be so disruptive they should warned rather than notify of the changes. They have told people to not list for a couple of days and what they needed to do to fix existing. They should probably add a couple of days to all auctions underway.

This is the canned response they are posting everywhere.

Wonder if I could say please be patient you can take my FVF in a couple of days when I get my act together 🙂

@katzrul15 Wow, revised a train car today on a listing created last month ... ALL item specifics were GONE ...
just checked one I did last week ... phew, they are still there ... for now. I sure hope this Item Specific and Category change isn't a mistake like the one this guy is making ...
