A buyer asked for a return on a listing we have, which is a volume listing with 5 in stock, we said no problem
they are now saying that the item they got is not the same as the one in the listing........... and they want us to pay for S&H for the return and the origin S&H, I have looked at my listing several time's and don't feel like it is misleading or deceitful, we have had several email exchanges.
So my question is can I take this up with Ebay somehow?
Thank you!

I might ask the Buyer to send you a few Photos of the Item he says
you sent him and is Not what he Ordered....Tell him that eBay likes to see those Photos..
If the Buyer is doing something fraudulent..maybe he will think twice...

Buyer can always return something even if it saids no returns. Getting a photo from them of what they got might be helpful but they probably won't do it. Buyer thinking paying for S&H for return and the origin S&H you will probably say keep it than pay extra with the refund. Calling CS if you feel you need to talk to someone or just feel lonely(hint). Do a return label to receive item back before a refund or anything. Most buyers don't know much about returning stuff(need box & tape) and it's the terrible long lines in the post office during the holidays. Might be surprised buyer does nothing. I would also stop with the emails to the buyer. Buyer might feel you will refund them before anything which I would not do. I would wish the buyer to do the return during the busiest time of our year in a post office.

Can you take it up with eBay? You can but it will do no good. Quick answer, accept return and send shipping label. Othherwise stop all communication with buyer. The sooner you start the return the sooner they have to use the label and act. Longer answer, eBay just does not support sellers in these situations. you can supply 24 photos and buyer supplies NONE and buyer will win. Buyer can obviously outright lie, and they will win. Just HOPE they return the actual item undamaged. They can return an empty box or a box of rocks and you will still have to refund on receipt. If you accept the return and send the label (it is just a click in the return process) there is a chance they won't bother. If they do not use the label you do not pay. Don;t want to scare you but even if you do everything right, accept the return, send the label, buyer does nothing and eBay closes the return, if they go outside eBay to their credit card company it starts all over. You may end up having a full refund sucked out of your eBay funds or your bank account AND buyer keeps the item. Isn't this fun?

Tell your buyer to initiate a return through ebay.
See what reason they use for the return.
if it's a remorse return, they pay the shipping.
If it's a not as described return, you pay the return shipping.

It is unlikely you can win this. Just have the buyer file a Request for Return and then you need to issue the return label. Once you get the item back, then refund the buyer in full. Or if it is more cost effective to just let them keep it, just issue them a full refund.
All sellers need to really know this policy completely.
