Is this legit? https://new-users-payments-enable.info

I just had a user contact me and tell me they were restricted from buying because they were a new user. They said they contacted eBay and was told that I needed to change a setting and sent me this link. I'm afraid this is not legit. This is the link: https://new- users- payments- enable. inf

I can't find anything in seller management that talks about restricting first time users from buying.

The first thing that JUMPS out at me is the link is NOT an Ebay link.  That pretty much tells you that they are trying to take advantage of you.

I am so glad you came here BEFORE doing anything.  Now if you did go to that link and changed anything or gave that link any information.  Run don't walk to your Site Preferences and CHANGE your password immediately.

Yes, this is a scam. There is a legit way to place a buyer on one’s exemption list if they are blocked from purchasing, but that link ain’t it. New users are not blocked from buying for simply being new.

Just want to make sure everyone reading this thread is aware that the URL in question is not "on this site." It is not an ebay.com webpage.

I agree.  Thank you for reiterating this.  I said the same thing in my post above yours a few hours earlier.  But this is a very important thing and we can't say it enough.  Everyone needs to be VERY careful when clicking on a link.
