Is this NWT?

I have an item that is New not used with some tags still on it.

It has the brand name tag, tag with size chart and a tag with size and bar code underneath but the price was cut off.

Should i list it as nwt or nwot? and is there a point to keep the size tag with bar code attached?

An item selling for $75 marked down to $3?

Not something that would be purchased at a retail department store unless they are going out of business.

As one example of many, I would regularly pay around $60 for a $400 item or around $10 or less for a $100 item.  A thriving retail establishment, nowhere close to going out of business.   i made lots and lots of money on the Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer sales but my bread and butter was Eileen Fisher Woman career clothing.

My soon to be mother in law has this ability.  She stacks coupons and sales and gets stuff for next to nothing.  She was recently buying my fiancée's boys uniforms for school and I told her I had found some pants for $8 and she was like oh I already got Several pair for a little under $2 each.   Sigh. I've always been know in MY family for getting deals but she definitely has me beats for the deals she gets shopping at retail stores.

Then you would be selling a pre-owned item as new, unless you dropship.

I have no problem with you doing this, but your strict rules seem to rule this out.

Well technically all diamonds are millions of years old, so not new.

All of my settings however are brand new with tags.

If something comes back, then I do list it as new other.

Occasionally I have had to downgrade returns as used.

But the setting for me is 2nd.  I am more concerned that the diamond or diamonds come back as sent.

Re: Is this NWT?

I am not following.

Are these retail stores or distributors.

And with these great sales, how are you able to get 40 pairs at once.  I would think there would be other shoppers and limits would be in place.

As far as knowing the people there so you get all of it, sorry but if I was one of their customers lookin to buy and someone scooped them up because they know someone there, I would be speaking to a manager and issuing a complaint.  And I am sure other buyers would as well.

I can understand getting a great deal.  I do that for my grandchildren.  But not being able to purchase all sales items.

Re: Is this NWT?

You've received enough opinions here to decide ... my .02 is that when you list make sure your listing is consistent. Your Adidas pants show NWOT in item specifics and NWT in description. Pick one or you will risk a buyer being upset.

Re: Is this NWT?

These are retail stores. I walk into the store, when they are not busy, and shop. I saw a stack of boots on a table with promo materials all over them. I did the math in my head and figured out what the cost would be. It was the last day of the promo (this retailers promos run Tuesday through Monday). I ask whatever associate that is working if they are cool with the extra work of helping me check out, and most times they chuckle and say yes because they want it gone.

Now to clarify, I am not buying the .99 with coupon, Black Friday item that everyone is lined up around the building to buy. I am buying the winter boots that came out last August or the ski overalls that the warehouse sent to the stores to make room for the new seasons trends. These items have been there for a while, free for anyone to buy prior to me getting there. Due to the amount of time it takes for items to be marked down this low, anyone who wanted them should have bought them already.

And if you want one of those 5 pairs of black knee high boots or a pair of the brown booties I have scooped up, I have no problem sharing.  In the few times that has happened, the person rarely takes or purchases what I have. They are more irritated with the idea of someone else getting a deal on those size 6 fur lined boots they cant wear becuase they didnt know about it until they saw me do it.

And to clarify, these aren't friends. These are sales associates (and store managers) who have daily sales goals to achieve. They know when they let me know whats going on in store promo wise, I am going to show up and drop money-----and this is important----never make a return to them.

Re: Is this NWT?

I would ask myself

A sale this great, why did so many of them not sell at this pennies on the dollar price?

So why would buyers on ebay want them at a middle man markup?

Yes, these could be local stores many of us cannot get to, but do they sell online?

Yes it is out of season, but come winter there will be even more sales and great buys on fresher merchandise.

Re: Is this NWT?

I have seen "fresher" merchandise mentioned before. Most people do not know what last seasons stuff is compared to this seasons stuff. Heck, most of the things we see on retail racks are take aways/trends from 2 seasons ago.

Why are people buying from a middle man? I wish I had than answer cause then it would explain why eBay has so many people buying and selling, as we are all technically middle men.  Here is what I can show you. I purchased boots online and in store this same time last year from the same retailer. Last September these old and not as fresh boots averaged $75 a pair on here.

People want what they want regardless of what the fashion weeks or fashion magazines say they should be buying.  My methodology is buy low and sell high AND never share specifically where you source your merchandise.

Often times things will sell out online but still be available in the physical stores, and obviously not everyone has access to the physical stores to go buy them there.  Also, sometimes things that don't sell well in one area of the country will do well somewhere else-- I have a particular line of merchandise that I've sold that barely gets touched in the stores around here, yet I've sold a whole bunch of them to people in the South and Midwest.  Same with anything Dia de Los Muertos-- it's not really a thing here on the East Coast but it will sell to people in California.

We used to have a couple of customers like that at my old job-- they would wait for the sale to start and then they would come in and load up.  We loved them because we wanted all of that stuff out of the store, so the more they bought, the better.  We would always make sure to tell them when the sale was going to start because like you said, they would show up and spend a lot of money and not bring anything back.

It's lack of local interest in the item.  I learned just because the locals don't want something doesn't mean others don't.   I know I once bought baby phat boots that where $200 boots marked down to $15.   I only bought one or two pairs to begin with.  They sold quick for almost $100 on eBay.  I went back to the store a week later and none had sold.  I bought a few more and eventually I ended up getting them all.  Same store had a radio flyer kids jacket no one was buying them.  I ended up buying all of them because people from Germany kept buying them.  Reaching a wider market makes a difference

Just remove the tag , the one with the price cut off , and then no-one will know it even existed..
