Did you mean:

Is it allowed

so a seller offers in his title a quantity of 10 of the same item.

but in his description, it says there are a quantity five of the same items for sale.

It seems to me that this is a deception. You don’t know what you’re buying five or 10 of something.

It is also search spamming if you are looking for a 10 of an item.

Is this allowed? Should it be reported?

Re: Is it allowed

Lol, I get only through the FIRST page of replies, and the sellers that "help" here, tell a buyer to basically not worry about it and stop being nosey. Sellers here have the WRONG attitude.  As a seller, you have a REPONSIBILITY to describe your item(s) accurately. The "oh well, move one", is pretty lazy and telling about the  poor quality sellers of that haunt these boards.

Mistake or not, it seems rather obvious that the seller does not care they are being deceptive or care about being accurate. Probably the same seller that would come here crying and whining how a buyer is "scamming" them on a "fake" INAD.

What should the OP do? report it. Not like eBay will actually DO anything about it, but they are free to report it. I'd also keep a list of sellers that you should not buy from, like this seller.

OR the OP could buy it anyway, and if there are not 10 of the item, return it for INAD. Because no matter if there are 10-5-or 1, the description is not accurate. The MBG pretty much assures buyer they are going to get what they paid for, or the seller gets to take it back on their dime.

Pretty apparent that the OP here read the description, the title, and looked at the pictures. Most sellers here whine that buyers never do that, they just look at the title or pictures. Yet when a buyer does what they should, sellers pretty much treat them like a Karen. LOL.

Re: Is it allowed

More likely the seller made a mistake in the listing. Usually that happens when seller use "Sell Similar" for their new listing and fail to properly edit the listing. No deception intended. Why not just message the seller and point this out? Personally I am always happy when a buyer or seller messages me to point out an error in my listing.

Re: Is it allowed

I’ I’m looking at pictures, he seems to have a bigger box that contain several smaller sealed boxes that clearly say 10pcs each. Yes, the listing is very confusing as he also list QTY of 1, when it seems he clearly has more than one. So:

is it 1 qty box of 10 pcs

is it 1 qty box of 5 pcs

is it just 1 pcs, doubt it based on price

Based on comparables even at 5 it is reasonable. But yes, best to check and verify, he probably made a typo.

Re: Is it allowed

I see listing errors all the time.

Why worry about it?

If you're in doubt, don't buy it.

Re: Is it allowed

Seller probably just made a mistake, I would contact them & question the amount available, Before assuming the worst & reporting them.

Re: Is it allowed

I did ask the seller. They have not replied with an answer. My point is I’m searching for 10. THis “10” comes up in my search. But I don’t know if it’s 10 because his description says five. They don’t answer. A waste of my time. A waste of anybody else’s time who is looking for the same thing. So basically, you’re saying this is allowed.

Re: Is it allowed

Based on the way, it’s written I’m not buying. My point is it is wasting everybody’s time and is false advertising. Whether it’s a mistake or not. The seller should at least have the courtesy of answering the question and correcting the listing if it is a typo.

Re: Is it allowed

A seller who has a potential buyer on the hook is foolish to not reply to questions.

You are free to just move on.

Re: Is it allowed

I agree with  @titipeo  (and you). The photo shows a box with the words "10 each per case" but agree that it is confusing since in the description the seller mentions 5. So would you receive a box of ten or is the seller going to split a box in 5 pieces or something else? I also agree that it's best not to buy from them until you hear back (if ever).

I agree with you 100%.

My point is, you are not the listings police.

I could literally find hundreds of listing mistakes every day.

I don't have the time or energy to message each one and wait for a response.

If you do, good for you.

Report the listing if you feel inclined to do so and move on.

You wasted more time here complaining about it rather than just doing what you said which is you are not buying it and probably more than likely report it anyway which is a decision on your end. Please note reporting a listing doesn't guarantee a removal. You have done your responsibility which is read the ad and noticed an error. Took what 5 seconds of time.
