I’ve got an early 1900’s floor lamp that a buyer out of Australia wants to purchase. Actually did purchase but I couldn’t send because the max length that eBay’s international shipping would take was somewhere like 27”. The lamp is welded to its base so all in I can’t get the box any shorter than 53”.
I’ve discussed this will buyer. She’s adamant that she has parcels like this delivered from eBay to Australia all the time. Many of which originate in the states. I have not been selling long enough to confidently know where and how to quickly find the correct method for which I can get this to her.
If anyone can lend a hand here I would be so very grateful. We’ve been working on this for awhile. I’ve held off selling it to anyone else. She’s been very patient with me so understanding I’m new. I could sell it in a. Instant here in the states with out a problem. But I’d really like to honor our deal and find the solution here for her. As well as I’m never very happy allowing little things like this beat me.
I have no problem winning by cheating. Cheating by getting answers from someone else opposed to figuring it out.
Thanks in advance!

You will package all EIS Items appropriately, and in accordance with correct weight and dimensions
Nothing greater than 44 lbs. for every country except CA where maximum allowable billable weight is 66 lbs; and
Packages exceeding 48 inches in Length or 84 inches in Girth are NOT permitted.
Idk, id cancel the sale. Too much risk for my blood.

" the max length that eBay’s international shipping would take was somewhere like 27”
Have you looked at other shipping options? That would seem to be the next step.

Shipping was likely not ebay's international service. Try listing it with another service & let buyer decide if charges are acceptable.
Refund & relist.

What does that mean, exactly? Do you really believe that the thousands of eBayers who come to the Boards and ask questions are "cheating"?

It looks like, as you stated, this item is to large to ship through EIS but you had specified alternate international shipping options for this item. In this case USPS Priority Mail. What is the buyer seeing for the shipping costs? Have they paid and if so what was the total cost?
