We just discovered we have been assessed insertion fees for many items that were listed within the 250 free listings per month that we are allotted. They all clearly showed $0.00 fees at the time they were listed, but we became aware of this problem when viewing the "Revise your item" module for an active listing. Any fees levied on an active listing are displayed at the very bottom of the page in blue font under Fees. It is a clickable link that opens up a new window labeled Review Fees. We are absolutely positive we did not exceed our October free listing allotment going by the Used/Left tracking counter, which is located on the Seller Hub overview page under Promotional Offers. We did not list these items a second time in another area of eBay, nor were any extras added to these listings that generate fees like boldface titles or subtitles. The $0.35 fee is specifically labeled as an insertion fee for every one of these items. Looking at discussions from other sellers with a similar problem, this might be a glitch that occurs when using the last free listings from your monthly allotment, perhaps due to a bot error in the Used/Left tracking counter? A text conversation with an agent did not resolve the problem, but a subsequent phone call with a live agent was useful. We were promised that we will be credited with amount of the insertion fees that were levied on our account in error. It is definitely something we are going to watch very closely in the future.

Your listings that are unsold are most likley being relisted - so you may well have gone over the limit.

I think they are free to post but when it sells then you pay $.30. and also if you went over your limit of monthly posts.

They’re asking about insertion fees, not fees for sales.

Could it be that not ALL categories are free to list in for your store level? I know that I have limitations where I get 10,000 extra free listings each month in the collectible category.
One more thing, if you list items in the wrong category you might get caught and charged but that has never happened to me.

Were they relisted in a new category that is not considered free?
We had many with category changes that were not correct.

Did you add any extras that might be charged for?
Such as listing in multiple categories?

I'm not aware of any category restrictions for sellers who are getting the basic 250/month free.
