I love how eBay steals your stuff and gives it to the buyer who cries that item arrived damaged or not as advertised!!! They say that they review the case and messages but clearly they don't or I wouldn't of had my item stolen and a negative balance owed for shipping due to a buyer who lies and cries to eBay about how the item is no good!! eBay don't forget without the buyers AND SELLERS you guys are nothing! I'm done with your lazy customer service and stealing so you won't see me here anymore. To everyone else getting robbed here I'll see you on Amazon!!!

If the item arrived damaged file a insurance claim with USPS or whatever shipper you used, provided the class of postage you used has insurance. It's a painful process and will probably require the assistance of your buyer. Have them keep the item and the original packing since USPS will probably want them to take it into a local PO for inspection. If the postal worker, usually the postmaster, agrees that the item was damaged in shipping they will keep it and file the electronic forms to start the refund process. It can take up to 90 days for you to get a check from USPS. I have had two of these in the last few years and USPS paid in both cases. Not sure how you shipped the item but the timetable for filing claims with USPS is below.
One buyer had opened a claim damaged in shipping but as soon as I asked them to keep the item and original packing that I was filing a claim with USPS and they would probably be contacted by USPS to bring the item into the post office for inspection they dropped/closed the claim.
NAD cases are another matter and you may as well refund. If you don't and the buyer asks eBay to step in you will loose and eBay will unilaterally take the funds from your account and you will probably not get the item back. As others noted no returns does not mean no refunds.

Much of this can be avoided if you offer free returns. Just sayin...

Wow your a genius

So AZ just covers sellers and tells buyers 'too bad'??
β12-11-2021 10:52 AM
And then what, you gonna cover the shipping fees??

l like to think so

"I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a refund."
Rinse. Repeat.
Even with a No Returns policy you can insist on the return before refunding.
"I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a refund."
You will likely be paying for return shipping.
Most people are honest and most Not As Described disputes are made because the purchase was Not As Described.
"I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a refund."
Refusing the return does not mean there will be no refund.
"I regret you are unhappy with your purchase. Please return it for a refund."
Rinse. Repeat.

There are certain risks associated with selling online. Not all buyers are honest or easily pleased. It doesn't matter where you sell. If you're going to do it, do it right.

I get where your coming from but if your not a heavy seller and only are selling a couple items that weigh over 25lbs that shipping adds up fast

True story. Sorry you had a bad experience.

And I'm not saying tell buyers too bad, I'm saying how about actually looking into the issue and review all messages before sticking it to the seller! 99 percent of my time that was spent on ebay I was the buyer so no I don't want the buyer screwed over either just a more level playing field

No worries. Thanks for your insight and level headed debating. Have a good weekend

Then you can get robbed on Amazon. You think the selling issues here are different anywhere else? Think again. EBay has always sided with the buyer. Follow the process and minimize your exposure.

If you can't develop a business model that covers the known risks perhaps you need to sell locally.

No I think the selling and buying is the same world wide, but the investigation into the issues are different with some companies and I'm not a fan of eBays process
