Do I have a chance here? Buyer bought an item that's listed as "Blue". He negs me and files a SNAD saying the color is "Royal Blue" and provides a photo which pretty much matches the shade shown on the listing photo.

This might be a follow up to my previous post about Free Returns vs Buyer Pays https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Free-Returns-vs-Buyer-Pays/td-p/34769310

This account has the buyer pays remorse return policy. Perhaps this buyer is doing this to avoid paying for return shipping or getting a partial (or full) refund.

Buyer has the right to return an item. They are given 30 days. As far as the negative you can appeal the negative and also call it in. If that doesn't work and Ebay states the negative stands then there is nothing more you can do. You can however make sure you have a return policy of 30 days seller pays for shipping back. It's just the way the policy is.

... and don't forget to block this buyer from purchasing anything more from you in the future.

Personally, I get rid of buyers who show that they are a liability to my business.

@iamalwaysright

I would contact eBay and get them to pick up return shipping on the basis that buyer admits by his own words that his SNAD is a lie.

A chance at what, specifically?

Regarding neg FB removal?

Regarding the up to $6 credit on return shipping for TRS protections?

Regarding something else?

Is it though? That's the tricky part that I'm concerned that ebay might side with. To put it nicely, buyer incompetency. What we know to be  a lie, the buyer may incompetently and incorrectly see it as a truth. I think my mileage may vary here depending on which ebay guy (or bot) reviews this.

A long time ago I had a buyer file a SNAD saying the color they received was not my advertised color of "Aqua", they said it was blue-green. I guess in that buyer's eyes those two colors are different, so in their eyes it isn't a lie.

All of the above, or at least some of it. I know feedback removal policy recently changed and I haven't read it enough to know the new terms off the top of my head. Not sure if this would qualify. I'm still hoping on the abusive $6 ding removal too. But don't have my hopes up.

Neg FB depends what they say.

Return credit, good chance depending how you word it when you report the buyer for abusing the MBG.

Reply:  Buyer upset because I listed the item as "blue"  but he says it's actually "royal blue".   Buyer may return the item for a full refund.

Makes the buyer look stupid.

Makes you look good.

Good grief... I've had this happen to me on a few occasions.

But the buyers politely messaged me to inform me of the discrepancy and ask me how best to resolve it.

They did not behave in such a malicious and mean-spirited manner as you describe above.

Clearly the heavens are looking down on me.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

@iamalwaysright

You described the item as blue, and buyer admits it's blue.

Royal blue is blue. It's not a different color than blue.

Block this buyer!, There must be at least a couple hundred shades of blue, go to any paint store or art supply, You said it was blue, we can't be responsible for every shade of blue!, So Bogus

'he'...was it a man who purchased it?  I think more than 50% of men are color-blind....read that somewhere in the past.

I know I am...tried in my past to get a retail store job and failed the color test they give you.

It's probably as honest return.

Or maybe wife looked at it and told him it's not the color he wanted.

Anyway, I don't know how much you sell or how many items are for sale by you....but a happy buyer no matter the situation can become a 'repeat buyer'. My repeat buyers carry me through these slow periods or those algorithms that eBay uses to slow are business.

You just reminded me of when I had to go to Home Depot and choose a color to paint our bathroom. All them swatches. Ugh.

Once my wife had me go to the store and get the "Seaside Blue" paint swatches so she could see it in person. I was unable to find it in the sea of blue swatches (pun intended). So I asked the employee, "hey do you know where the seaside blue swatches are?"

He gives me this look -_- and says "Man look at all these darn swatches here. Look at all of the blues we have. Who do you think I am, Rain Man?" Hahaha, I said okay fair enough.

What in tarnation? I just recently sold a paperweight that had a flower inside and I said, "hot pink (?)" for the color. Buyer loved it and left positive feedback.

I can't imagine being so picky about the exact name of the color.

Wait - are you selling bride's maids dresses to bridezillas or something?
