Hurray for July

Usually it is the worst for sales - hot, humid and competition with garage sales - but this year was different as it was the best month so far this year.  I thought I would share good news. You just never know which month will be decent so keep listing along.

Hurray for July

Thanks for the great positive post and yay!

I've been gone more than I've been here, so July has been real hit or miss for me. But all things considered, it hasn't been that bad.

Same. I haven't listed much at all this month because I've been busy with assorted things, yet my sales have been chugging along decently despite that. I'm especially pleased that I've moved a bunch of long tail stuff (a few older figures and a plush) that had been sitting around for quite a while. The irony is that I had actually been considering dropping the price on a couple of them, but then they got snapped up before I did so!

Any thoughts as to the reason July  became the best month for you so far ?

How were your ebay sales before July?

Hurray for July

The start of July was my best month since April. (2024 so far has been my worst year).

Now I am dealing with a loss, that will take a lot of my attention from selling so I ended all but three items.

Once I can get thing settled, instead of listing individual items, I will take similar items and put them into sets, and list them that way. Maybe I will get lucky.

I just hope the economy show some improvement soon.

Thanks for sharing and congrats.   I average about a sale or two a day; some days, no sales.  Weekends seem to be the best time for me, although in general its been a bit slow the last two months.

Yesterday I had a few sales.   The kind of sales that are really filler, to keep my numbers up in accordance with eBay requirements.

The items -- two books and a porcelain jar -- were not at all expensive to begin with, were priced fairly, and each had a few watchers.

I sent out offers on each of the three items.

Two offers (the books) were $0.99 cents lower than the asking price; the offer on the jar was $1.50 lower.

All three offers were accepted within an hour.

I've seen lots of sellers blame slow sales on "the economy."

But is wanting to save $0.99 cents "the economy"?

Great month for me as well. Listed quality items at a good price they seem to disappear from my inventory back on the hunt today. Keep Listing and GOOD SELLING

It is hard to say, but I did have three items that had a lot of watchers - so maybe that drew in more traffic?  I had an uptick in holiday and winter items - which tends to be slow in the summer.  Second hand shopping is becoming trendy with the younger kids again so maybe that helped.  Or maybe it was just my turn to have a decent July - lol!

Yep.  Same.  July started off great, I was up nearly 100% over June.  Then things slowed down, but still my best month so far this year, and above last year at this point.  Dog nose why.  I keep listing.  Also, I had ended all promoted listings for maybe 6 months or more.  Promoted everything at 2% starting July 1st.  Maybe that helped?

That's terrific.  I did ok on other platforms...still waiting for a sale this month on eBay but like you stated, the summer months are slow.

Keep up the good work!

Happy Selling

July has not been good, and the eBay numbers seem to be exaggerated on my sales board.  It states sales up 60%+ in the last 31 days. Totally disagree!

Impressions up 4.4%

I currently have about 316 watchers.

No one is asking questions or making offers.

I have maybe 15 potential buyers each day to send offers to if I wish. I send some offers and no response.
