How would you respond?

Wrong answers only please 😂

Hi, I live all the way up in Alaska and it would help, if the CD case could have extra protection; so it won’t get crushed, cracked, or damaged on the way up here. Some strong small rectangle cardboard on front and back of CD case. Double wrap it in bubble wrap on front and back of CD case please! Then put it in a small box that is big enough, but not too small, where it would be hard to get out or get squished. Then put it in the envelope. Anything you can do will help! Thank you!

Re: How would you respond?

@e-cheddar   Everything we ship goes in a box, we have NEVER used a mailer, period.  We have shipped CDs, thin paper back and hard cover books, etc.  Each item like this gets one wrap of bubble wrap.  We use both E-Flute and C-Flute corrugate ... very thin items get the bubble wrap and corrugated simply folded over them and the three edges taped shut, have never had any issues.

"2nd thought - people still buy cds?  Huh."

I buy CD's.  I'm a singer and the best way (for me) to learn a new song is to sing along with a CD.  Easy to stop and go back to the beginning, blah blah.  Any singer out there will tell you the same.  Plus they are cheap.  And last forever.  Sheesh.

Re: How would you respond?

"Heck yeah...people still buy vinyl!"

I do I do!!!  I have at least 1000 33's including an original copy of Saucerful of Secrets (Floyd) and lots of old blues.  Just started about 2 years ago buying 45's from old juke boxes on-line...amazing the songs we've all forgotten about that are so GOOD!  Why send these gems to landfill?

Re: How would you respond?

Selling vinyl LPs is still a thing.  I have over 400 LP albums and at least 100+ 45 rpm records.  Of course I still have my record players too.   The only equipment upgrades  I have are so I can transfer to a digital format. I've had many offers over the years from people who want them as I have many in pristine condition from the 50s-70s.

Re: How would you respond?

It depends on whether or not the shipping expense will increase.  CDs can get damaged in transit if not properly packaged.

Re: How would you respond?

"In Alaska I would imagine the demand for CD's and probably DVD's is a bit higher than it is in LA. "

Before we gave up the ghost on VHS tapes, I think the last 3 or 4 VHS lots we sold all went to Alaska. This would have been around 2015.

Re: How would you respond?

Dear buyer.

CD's don't come in cases anymore silly.  I stick them neked in a yellow craft envie and call it good so I don't have to pay as much in postage.  What?  Did you think you were actually getting service with that sale?

Please leave me 5 star positive feedback.

Re: How would you respond?

"Their packaging request, while understandable, will add into shipping/packaging cost that this type of items will typically get, and still will provide no guarantee of protection. Is buyer willing to pay for this? I sense a potential INAD claim in the making. Best to steer clear."

Seriously? A CD mailer that holds up to 3 jewel cases costs around 25 cents. Anyone selling CDs should already have these numbers figured in. How do you anticipate a buyer asking to make sure their purchase is properly packaged is an INAD probablity?

Re: How would you respond?

"Wrong answers only please"

Please order a package of cases so you can replace the ones that arrive to you cracked because the Post Office has to stuff it in a duffle bag and throw it in the back of a tiny plane with tons of other heavier packages squished in with it for people living in the most remote location in the United States.  Or move.

Gonna burn you a copy and send via email. Guaranteed not damaged in transit.

But really, if the buyer lives in a remote area, its quite possible packages are subject to some harsh treatment.  I some times get specific packaging requests from international buyers--like double boxing--I get it they have probably had bad experiences.

they really should have made their demands clear BEFORE purchasing, imho.

I have obscure taste in music, and much is not streamable due to copyrights, etc.  Also, I like OWNING my music.

If I want to 'stream' music, the radio is free.

Same for movies--I can never find specific movies on Prime or xfinity...all you can do is browse and hope you come across something you might be interested in.
