I've reported a buyer for sending abusive emails almost a month ago and I've not heard back yet. I'm wondering if I should be taking additional action, or if this usually takes a bit of time? In the past I've had the window of action close on me and have missed out in leaving feedback, ect. so I'm worried that might happen here. In the list of reasons to have eBay call me back, this is not one of them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It could be extortion...
Could you return and explain how a feedback saying "pathetic" would be extortion ?
chrysylys wasn't referring to the wording ("pathetic").
The comment was suggesting that it's possible that the buyer could have been trying to extort the seller via messages (give me a refund and let me keep the item or I'll NEG you). Which in this case would be the ONLY reason ebay would remove it.
Bingo! We don't really know exactly what the messages between the OP and buyer are... wording wise. I'm just not ruling out the possibility of extortion as a reason due to lack of information. Only the OP will know that. So I wouldn't confidently say a feedback is completely ineligible for removal unless I see all the messages.

@coolectionswrote:There was no mention of anything about extortion. The buyer was upset with the OP and sent rude emails to them so the OP wanted to report it. It sounded like the OP thought since there was rude messages that it would also qualify for feedback removal but that is not the case.
That was in reply to your post that "you saw nothing that would make the f/b eligible for removal".
It may be removable for reasons you cannot see in the feedback. An example was given. Extortion emails can be rude. OP may not know about the rules involving feedback extortion. There could be a basis for removing it. We don't have enough details. If we know the details of how the feedback appeared to begin with, we might be able to help craft a useful reply to the feedback if it isn't removed.

Feedback is also removable if it does not pertain to the transaction for which it was left. If the "rude emails" were about another listing, or a past transaction, the feedback would be removable on that basis.
It would also be removable if the buyer had demanded something outside the scope of the listing... for example, listing is U.S. only, buyer wants it shipped to Canada, seller says no, buyer sends rude emails, then buys it and has it sent to U.S. reshipper, and neg.s because seller wouldn't ship to Canada.

I'm still waiting 2.5 years. On the feedback issue, you CANNOT leave negative feedback and it can get you slapped by eBay if you leave the buyer a positive feedback with a negative comment.

Don't worry about that ,, e bay keeps those dealings top secret . I recently had a buyer contact me to say she received an empty package from me and asked I send her another necklace . I know I didn't send her an empty package ,, I sent her exactly what she ordered . I contacted e bay and since the tracking number proved delivery they sided with me and closed the case . Then the same buyer opened a return for a refund ,, return what ? She claimed the package was empty . Again e bay closed the case . They also told me they would keep an eye on this buyer to see if she has a pattern for these kinds of claims . She's been sending me nasty messages ever since . I guess some people really get upset when things don't go as planned . I hope the abusive e mails stop for you ,, but if they don't just ignore them. The world is full of all kinds of people and some are not so nice . Tulips

@dougefresh091wrote:Thanks, that is indeed what I was asking. Well, fair enough I guess. What about feedback? I've reported the negative feedback as well, but have heard nothing back and it hasn't been removed. It seems like a clear violation to eBay terms, especially with the abusive emails I received.
I don't know what ebay terms you feel it is a clear violation of, but the negative feedback left is just one word, and that one word will be taken as the buyer's opinion, and would not be removable.
Cutomer's communication may be inappropriate but that does not negate his opinion. There are very specific reasons for Ebay to remove feedback.

Buyer could hope the seller will offer a refund to make it go away via a feedback revision.
