How do I get back to the regular classic version of Ebay-

How do I get back to the regular classic version of Ebay-The look has changed drastically. I'm not ever sure how to start a new listing and I'm trying to "sell similar" which I do all the time in the past.

Any info please

I am not certain you can.  Once you morph to the darkside to use the new listing tool, not certain there is a way to go back to the original listing tool.  If you do not see the button to click in the upper right to revert back, you likely cannot.

Many, many posts on this.  Sellers wanting e-Bay to give them the option to go back and use the old version.  Good luck - we're all drowning with this issue together.

Are you saying that when you choose "sell similar" eBay does not open the new tool and let you create a listing?

I have done that many times with the new tool and it has worked just fine.

Lucky- the other person has 760 active listings and 3890 feedback.  I think they are saying that they want to go back to the classic listing tool like most everyone else.  Ebay just forces you in without warning ( other than "sometime in the near future") and the tool is so different and complicated and confusion to use on a desktop that it just throws people off.    Nobody ever expects their computer to instantly turn into a scaled down phone app with submenus and "see more" buttons and all the functions we use for each listing to be hidden in "edit all" popup boxes......

We need a real desktop listing tool back

I've never even seen the new listing tool.

If you use "sell similar" or "have one to sell" it should bring up the old/original listing format.

Even of you have the change ALL the info, you're no worse off than starting from scratch.

That would be a nice thing to have happen, but for many that is not what happens.

You get the new layout.

Much of my selling is the same. Just change pics, and some description info, so for me, the new form is not a big deal.  yes click, click, click, but just like other changes it is doable.  The more I do, the easier it gets.

I get the new layout no matter what - the first class thing seems to be working mostly (I think it's a template problem but I'm baffled as to how it happened).  Once you do it a few times it's not that bad, just clunky.  It's not very intuitive, though, and I think that's what is vexing people.

No, once you get switched over, it doesn't matter what you do, you get the new listing tool.

It should be there for everyone to try- give it a go and see what you think! then you will understand why we are all annoyed at the change. It would be fun to go through these boards and capture every descriptive word and list then! lol

clucky, unintuitive, clicky, hidden, hard, baffled, lousy, confusing, broke, why?, missing, bad design, waste of white space- I could go on and on.

The point is - the tool at this point in no way resembles a workable product for a desktop computer- they have just forced a reduced function phone app on their most productive (highest volume listing)sellers thereby slowing us down.

Unfortunately, you can't. Once you change to the new version, you've CROSSED over to the TWILIGHT ZONE, and there's NO way back. May the force be with you. 😓

It's all rather pointless to try to go back to the 'classic' view on any website. The 'classic' view will always get retired and then you are stuck with the 'new'.

Best to do the first one, you'll get used to it and eventually you won't even remember the 'old' one.

Seller Hub, Shipping Pages for example.

If you don't have the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner .........clicking which takes you back to the old page.........I have read a couple of posts that say they called CS and CS could revert a seller back to having the old tool option..........  Don't know if that's still applicable or not........

Better go ahead now and get used to it.  Right now there are three listing forms - the quick form (literal garbage), the trusty rusty old advanced form which we all know and love, and the new unified form which will replace the other two so all sellers will have the same listing tool.

It's...okay.  Takes a minute to get used to and it is, at least for me, slower than the old advanced form, but it's way, WAY better than the quick listing form that new sellers were given.  Way better by leaps and bounds.

I think they should have given the advanced form to everyone. Even though it was considered the "business" lister, it is a lot easier to use than the quick form for new sellers, but it's not my website so I just have to roll with it.

I can say that whoever had the idea for the form must have stock in computer mouse companies because there is far more clicking needed than is necessary.  I mean why use a simple drop down menu when you can require four clicks to do the same thing, right?

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Hmmmm... I think I'll continue listing with the classic version and NOT try the new version. Right now I have a few hundred listings to use "sell similar" on, and I don't want to waste a lot of time by switching horses in mid-stream. I currently have a quick cookie-cutter procedure working just fine for this latest batch of listings.

I'll continue with the classic version until I am forced to switch... this should also give more time for eBay to get more bugs out of the "new" version. Then I will simply Accept > Adjust > Adapt. So far this has worked here for 24 years... Rolling with the punches and not getting my knickers in a twist over changes - no matter how frustrating it is to learn the new ways over which I have no control.

Cheers, Duffy
