Greetings All:
I see listings that give buyers the option of using PP Installment to purchase expensive items. I have none that would qualify at this time, but I was curious how this works from a seller perspective. Does the seller just not ship the item until fully payed some months down the line, which seems the most sensible way it should work?

That arrangement is strictly between PayPal and the buyer. The seller is not even aware that the buyer has used it. I see PayPal Credit on your listings. You don't, because the seller's view of the listing page is geared to the seller, and eBay and PayPal know that you won't be buying your own item. If I purchased this doll and used PayPal credit, you wouldn't even be informed about it.

Are you talking about PayPal credit?
The seller gets paid straight away by PayPal, and the buyer pays PayPal credit back in installments.

Yes, PayPal credit is an advertisement placed on your listing by ebay. You cannot remove it. I will never forget the time I got a neg from a buyer who was angry at ME for advertising that and then not letting them use it as a payment option.

The neg was left by the buyer saying something in order of "crooked seller, advertised payment option and then refused it". I did not know what they were talking about. They paid via Paypal and the item was shipped as any normal sale. It took me a while to figure out what happened. Only took three CS calls to get if removed after having to listen to the scripted "it is the buyer's opinion" or "sorry, nothing we can do" nonsense.

Glad you were able to get the neg expunged!
And to all who answered, thank you for you replies.

You mean Paypal Credit.
It isn't something you, as a seller, can place on your listings. Paypal credit is shown to those who would qualify and whom Paypal would like to enroll in Paypal Credit, although I have read of people getting turned down when they saw that logo and applied. I often see that logo and regularly receive Paypal emails offering Paypal Credit to me.
The seller ships immediately as Paypal pays you instead of the buyer paying you. No delay in you getting the full amount of the sale. The buyer is responsible to Paypal for repaying them. Think of it like this~Paypal is loaning the buyer the money to pay for your item, and the buyer then has to pay them back.

No, that is incorrect. It is shown in general and a data mining operation at the very least. They show it to anyone, not just to people with good credit scores.

PayPal credit is a way for PayPal to hook a buyer who can't afford what they're buying, with a usurious interest rate.
