There was an old thread explaining how to change the store url by returning to the old format, but I can't find a way to go back to the old format. I changed my store name but the URL still has the old name.
You might try contacting eBay help through Facebook to ask. I've never heard of such a thing, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. You just need someone who knows for sure.
My understanding was that since eBay changed the store format recently, it was no longer possible to return to the old format and then change the store URL.
But others have claimed it could still be done, at least as recently as December.
