I have been on hiatus for a while and the changes have me baffled. 

I sold a product for  $ 145.00  plus tax. The payout was $ 123.52 when they got done. 

$159.86

$14.86

$21.48

$123.52

The amount transferred to me was $115.00 .  So I assume the other 8 dollars was paypal fees? 

Now I am paying about 30 % of my profit to sell something here??????????????? **bleep**?

Did you buy a shipping label from eBay?  That gets deducted unless you used PayPal.

PayPal no longer is used to receive payments from buyers. You need to look at the order details it shows you exactly what was taken as fees and taxes. And shows you your net before and after shipping. 
Also FVF are 13.65% depending on the category plus $0.30 transaction fee. 

Your fees come out of price of the item + shipping + sales tax (if applicable)

The only major change is the combined fees (used to be 10.00% ebay and 2.9% Paypal) for a total of 12.9%

It is now 13.25% for that total fee (not much of a change over the years)

The only difference is Sales Tax is now being charged to your buyer (if applicable)

so, lets look at your sale (estimated)

I see for some reason you offered free shipping? Did you remember to build that expense into the cost of your item?

145.00 (Item) + 14.86 (Sales Tax) = 159.86

X.1325 = 21.18 (Final Value Fee) + .30 (Transaction Fee)

Net After Fees is 123.52 (this is the amount you cleared for the sale) or appx. 15%

It appears that your shipping label (if your payout was 115.00) was 8.52 which was paid out of your proceeds from this sale (you can also pay this expense through paypal by choosing that option on the label page)

$21.48 / $145 is 14.8%

The sales tax is a pass-through, aside from adding about $2 to your FVF. You also gave away the shipping cost, so don’t blame eBay because that reduced your payout..

$8.52 shipping label purchased through ebay, if you didn't want this to be taken out then you'll need to enter some banking information under shipping payment settings.

Go to ORDERS, ALL ORDERS (click on VIEW ORDERS DETAILS) this will tell you exactly where money went.
