Hi guys....
New seller... Have an INR case for an international buyer... I am in Canada, and super expensive to ship with delivery confirmation internationally.
After reading many of the posts here, i realize i will lose the case if escallated as i do not have delivery confirmation and will get a unresolved mark if i don't refund, but i have some info that it is possible, the claim is not on the up and up.... not accousing the buyer, but want some input/advise.
Item is going to UK, and royal mail website tracking is saying attempted delivery on 12/13/17 and a notice was left for pick up. (But again there will not be delivery confirmation)..
Prior to looking up the tracking, i have responded to the buyer saying if the item has not arrived by tomorrow i will issue a full refund or ship a replacement.
I've sent the tracking info to the buyer...
Should i just refund and take the loss, or take the unresolved hit and have royal mail investigate...
I am more concerned about being a new seller and establishing a good selling record, but i am concerned i may be being taking advantage of at this point.
Thank you for input..

It is my understanding that eBay considers an attempted delivery as if it is delivered ... the buyer has to follow through to provide a safe place for the package to be delivered, and work with his carrier to properly receive the package.
Let your buyer know that the package has arrived and that he needs to work with his local postal carrier. There is no need for a refund.

Thanks guys...
Probably because the size of the box would not fit in thier mailbox so they left a notice...
I have a couple of hours, so i will upload the tracking info to ebay before it hits 12:00 here..
I was under the impression that this type of tracking is not good enough for ebay.. Am i mistaken here?
Thanks again

And yes, it is viewable online via the royal mail webstie..
For some reason i cannot get canadapost.ca to show any tracking for any item right now.. going to keep trying and see if there is an update.

Well, I think your mistake here was responding to the buyer before checking the tracking info. Since the package is waiting for him at his local post office, the burden is now on him to pick it up. If Royal Mail is like USPS, they'll hold it for him for two weeks, then return it to you if he doesn't collect it.
I would not refund him based on non-delivery at this point. He's been notified that delivery was attempted, he knows where he can pick it up.

When you say this type of tracking, what makes it different other than it is from Canada?
JMO but if it is online tracking where ebay can see that delivery was attempted, then that should satisfy them.

Not saying in your case just throwing it out there.
You need to be careful about buyers who for some reason do not attempt to pick up a package.
You refund them and then miraculously they run there and claim it.
And once money is refunded, case is closed.
So get them to close the case in your favor while you remin on the phone.

Thanks everyone for the advise...
Called ebay and was informed that because there was an attempted delivery, case will be found in my favor!!!!
Thanks again
