Help on account restriction. Consigned items.

Hello-  I own a recycling company. Been a seller on ebay since 2013. Could no longer deal with returns, scam buyers, etc, so I only sell computer processors anymore. I get a lot of electronics and wanted to first resell, repurpose as opposed to scrapping them.

In order to still generate income, but not personally deal with ebay, I recently teamed up with a colleague that I consign items to and he sells them under his own account on ebay.  He opened a business bank account, got a business license, filed with the Public Regulation Commission- totally on the up and up.  He sells and we spilt the profit.

Ebay recently suspended his account. They are asking for invoices for the material he is selling. I consign to him.  My question- will signed consignment forms suffice for ebay- or are they only wanting invoices?

I believe it is the dreaded MC1101, so is there anything we can do, or is this a losing battle?

So ebay wants invoices for salvaged electronic components?

Yes. They specifically are asking for invoices for the items he is selling. Which is salvaged electronics- don't get me wrong, we get in a lot of very good, usable, working product.

You own a company and he owns a company.  So just generate invoices for what you consign to him.

Is he selling anything else besides what you consign to him?

What do his seller metrics look like?

Does he have any defects?

Re: Help on account restriction. Consigned items.

He is only selling merchandise I provide.

Account opened on Jan 1, 2022. Restricted today.

Great metrics- no returns, shipping delays, defects, etc.

Sold about 20 items.

Re: Help on account restriction. Consigned items.

But I don't sell the items to him, I consign the items. We have a consignment agreement and a spreadsheet of all consigned items. My question is since the documents are not invoices, which is what they are specifically asking for, will that suffice.

To generate invoices, would be fraudulent, as he does not outright buy the product from me.  I would be on the hook to the IRS for sales that never occurred.

Re: Help on account restriction. Consigned items.

Provide a spreadsheet with your letterhead showing a list of items that you are providing for consignment. Maybe also provide a copy of the consignment agreement.

Yes, that’s the intention. However, I can’t speak to anyone at eBay about this as the entities that deal with this are a separate department. Hence, asking for the forums help.

I would then perhaps write up the invoice with terms of 50% net 360. But why worry about fraud when only Ebay will ever see the invoices.  All Ebay wants to see is a legitimate looking invoice from a legitimate company.  Whether you want to keep those invoices on the books is up to you.  You seem to have little to lose by trying.

I guess my question is, why would you get someone else to sell for you ?

I understand your saying you don't want to deal with eBay's hassles, but you are already dealing with them on this account as a seller, just of different items.

I am just confused as to why you need to make someone else go to the trouble of opening a new (0) FB account to sell a product rather than add the products to this established account.
