For those lucky enough to not what the dreaded “MC011” restriction is - I envy you.
But I, myself, have not been so lucky. Over the past month or so I’ve gone back and forth with eBay representatives regarding the process of reinstating my account.
Mind you, my seller level is rated as an “above average”; no cases, all positive reviews, no late shipping, and 0 outstanding debts.
Regardless, since I’m a new seller they slapped me in the form of removing all my current listings. To fix this, they informed that they needed proof of delivery for all orders from the past 90 days. Easy enough, so after submitting all the tracking numbers I was under the impression that I was done and could go back to selling. Ha! If only eBay made it that easy.
They replied just to tell me that they needed additional information before reinstating my account. The requirements were as such:
- A readable government ID
- A recent credit card statement
- Lastly, documentation that shows that I purchased the item(s) recently listed on eBay.
The issue which brings me seeking help from the community is that last requirement, documentation proving that I purchased my listed items. A bit of background information, I sell fine vintage jewelry that originated from my personal jewelry collection that I no longer need. Some were gifts, heirlooms, and things I’ve personally bought throughout the years (which I don’t have recipes for) so I really don’t understand what to do. I’m cautious in moving forward since I know I’m one rejected appeal aware from being permanently suspended from selling on eBay.
Do I just submit everything and explain the situation for how I acquired the listed items?
If there’s anyone who’s had this issue before and could recommend what appropriate next steps to take, would be greatly appreciated. I will give eBay a call tomorrow and update the post but I have a feeling I’ll have better luck here as opposed to just someone in a call center reading from a script.

You are a new seller selling high priced jewelry, so you are on eBay's radar.
If eBay requests receipts for the items you are selling then that's what you need to do.
I'm not sure what to tell you regarding "jewelry that originated from my personal jewelry collection that I no longer need. Some were gifts, heirlooms, and things I’ve personally bought throughout the years"
You can try to reach out to CS reps on Ebay for Business on Facebook through facebook messenger. They don't read from a script and are very knowledgeable. You will need to state your ebay ID and full name in the message.
Good luck.

Sorry for your situation. As others have posted, new sellers are watched very closely in the beginning. You sold a lot of high dollar pre-owned jewelry in less than a months time. That will raise red flags every time. Due to all the fraud and stolen merchandise being sold on this platform, Ebay appears to be cracking down hard, especially on new sellers. Too many people coming here to unload whatever and make a quick buck. Not saying this your selling behavior. They're just making harder for these types to move their items internet wise.
What you can do is reach out on social media via Facebook. These are US CS agents who actually work for Ebay and may better serve you and your present situation. The one's ebay provides will usually give you incorrect or false info just to move you along. They don't care about your problem, because it's not their problem. Give it a try with the link I provided and hopefully you get your account back on track. Good luck to you:
