Hmmm...Got a kick out of this:
Going through some old stuff, throwing it away or revising the listings.
Found what looked like some sort of Car Door Plate, with the lock actuator on it, handle, rods, pivots, and even has a part number on it.
Really had no idea what it was or what it came off of.
So, I'm trying to find it in my listings. And I can't.
When I finally find it, I get it...there's no mention of DOOR, PLATE, LOCK ACTUATOR, part number, or anything I searched for in the title, or the listing. No wonder I couldn't find it. Makes perfect sense.
How I found it is what I think is funny.
Google search "part number and door". Poof, there it is, my listing, right in my face. (a rear hatch lock mechanism).
I fully understand why I couldn't find it on eBay.
BUT, searching the same parameters, on ANOTHER site, turns up MY eBay Listing.
I just think that's funny

This is common, ebay search is primitive compared to the rest of online

That's funny, & It's not very funny that you can't find it on ebay, That is a Head scratcher.

eBay's search and Google's search are prioritizing very different things, so it is not too surprising that one finds things the other does not. Each has its place.
In Google's case, Google may be remembering and prioritizing pages you have searched for and visited before, which might explain why you can easily find your own page with a vague search.
That may not necessarily help other users find that page if they have not already visited it, though, unless by searching and finding that listing you raise its page rank enough to make a difference.

A link to the item would be helpful.
