For several months, as reported by numerous regular posters, sales literally fell off a cliff.
I know that this issue gets reported all the time. But this past time, there were significantly more postings.
For those of you that noticed a complete halt of normal sales activity in april, may , june ,july.
Have your sales picked up at all? i don't see any postings lately.
My own sales, which were significantly down have somewhat resumed. nothing like it was a couple years ago. but I'm not going a whole week without a sale. please respond with your observations

Its funny you mention it. I had 3 sales in the past couple days. An up tic for me, don't have much listed, so I was pleased. Not going to get excited yet.

The sales were slow and about the same level until July. Since august 1, there is a pickup in orders. I do use promoted listings. Until August 1, I set the rate at 1%. Ebay then increased the minimum to 2%. However, I did increase it to 3%, perhaps that's the reason. The recommended % in my category, per ebay, is 6.9%. I will see how things go and plan to reduce it to 2% to see, if this makes any difference.

Things picked up July 14th and have been fairly steady.

no increase. Sales leveled off june through mid july but I am down 20-25% in last 30 days going forward. The last week was my worst ever.

Picked up last two weeks in July like crazy and then fell into a dead zone in August......

In a few more weeks we will be at 100% drop in sales!
So far that is only here..100% up else whereas..

This past week has been really decent. I expect things to pick up throughout this month and to be really busy through next spring

I haven't listed in well over a week and sales are still trickling through. Can't complain since I haven't put much into it and don't have much running despite being in a super-saturated category. Since I just started listing again (found more inventory), we'll see.

I've been getting sales to France and California in unusual numbers.
People who are selling are not posting.
People who are not selling have time to post.
The first complaints about slow sales were in October 1995 and have continued.

The number of posts went up because it happens every time Ebay makes a change. It is used as an excuse for low sales. How else could anyone justify low sales as it could never be high competitive market, low demand, or incorrectly priced items.

um, with all due respect. competitive market , low demand, incorrectly priced items do not all happen at once and suddenly start affecting a seller out of nowhere.
The halt in sales was dramatic and widespread . lo demand, highly competitve market, incorrectly priced items didn't just out of nowhere start affecting sales.

Wait. You don't think the dude with a feedback score of 2 and 0 active listings has a spot-on hot take?

There are a myraid of issues that can effect sales activity - some nation wide, some regional, etc. Right now there are several economic issues people are dealing with and lots of people are moving to the 1968 tune by Archie Bell and the Drells - "Tighten Up". But a factor at this time of year is lots of money is being spent on back to school and colleges stuff. Our schools went back on August 2 here in the Deep South. Universities open up are around the last week of August. - like the 26th. Then there are things like Mother Nature events.

One more thing - right now gasoline prices are trickling down. But not too far in the distant future those Federal and State fuel tax Holidays will come to the end and in Georgia we will see a bump up of 47.5* cent/gal on gasoline and a bit more on over the road diesel fuel. Our governor relaxed the state tax Some states didn't so the bump up won't be so much.
* this amount will vary by state
