eBay just completed a claim & is refunding a buyer for a claim that was cancelled because the buyer was waiting for a new delivery???!!!!!!!!! Added note - no funds were on hold & received no emails regarding this matter!!!

Trying to get a better picture. So did the buyer originally open an eBay case either for an INR or NAD? If so how did you respond to the original case? If you did not respond suspect eBay closed out the case in the buyers favor although I am guessing you sent a replacement item for the original? Looking for a little clarity. I put little faith in eBay's email delivery I monitor my eBay activity from the seller hub and the message section.

Once a buyer files, you have a short window as a Seller to respond to the Claim or e-Bay steps in and responds on your behalf.
What "claim" did your Buyer file? You were sending a replacement due to what event? (SNAD or INR?)
Once a claim is filed, you need to work within the claim/dispute options/timelines.

Then how did you learn about the first claim that was “cancelled?”
I’m sorry but seems to me you mis-read or misunderstood something, and NOT that EBay’s system went…um, rogue.

I did not misunderstand that the buyer cancelled the request of a claim.

Still way to many missing details here. How do you know the buyer canceled the initial claim? Why did they cancel it? Difficult to help you without some additional information.

lol Because I got an eBay message telling me the claim ended. How do you think? 😛 Do I have to hold peoples' hands with every minor detail? 🙂

Post the relevant part of the message.
If a buyer who has opened a "request" and then retracts it every is done and over. It sounds more like the buyer got fed up and escalated. At that point eBay makes a decision and the claim is "ended" (with you refunding).
Maybe I've got it wrong but the situation you allude to simply doesn't happen. Those "minor details" are very important, without them it could appear you are leaving them out on purpose.

If the buyer opened an INR dispute and closed it because they received the item, they could have opened another return request because the item arrived NAD. This would account for your receiving notification that the one case was ended.
Of course, your description of the details of what occurred are somewhat sparse and make it hard for us to understand precisely what your issue is.

Do you want real help or just to complain? Details will get you real help.

Agreed my incentive to assist this individual just went to 0. Maybe they should try calling customer support.

We users havew no clue to what you did or the purchaser, or ebay or managed payments if a payment dispute.
How could we??/
Information is needed and of course you have all of that and we dont...
Good luck with this.

Snark won’t get better answers
So….. you got all the other notices, but not a new claim opening?
Uh huh.
Ok.

The OPs motivation for posting doesn't seem to be to get help with the issue. This is just venting, looking for some commiseration.

Actually, if the OP's responses to neutral feedback received is any indication, snark may simply be in the OP's nature.
