I sold a Wayne Gretzky rookie card that went through authentication process, passed and was shipped to buyer. For some reason it couldn’t be delivered. EBay first said it was lost and refunded the buyer and let me keep my funds. I discovered through a secondary shipper that the card was returned to the authenticator and signed for. When I confronted eBay on this fact they changed their story and admitted that the card was returned to authenticator. They don’t seem to want to entertain the idea of returning my property to me. The deal was with the buyer not some eBay authenticator service who now has my card

You got paid. As a seller, you wanted the money, not the card. The one who should be mad is the BUYER who wanted the card, not the money.

You were paid out on the sale and lost nothing. Would of it mattered if you sold it to the authenticator rather than your original buyer?
What did it sell for and what was the condition?

Clear as day.
As you were paid, it is no longer your property.

I wasn’t given an option and they lied

I wasn’t given an option and they weren’t forthcoming with the truth,

You received full value for your card. The value is what a willing buyer and a willing seller agree it is.
Why should Ebay spend any money to return a card that you have been fully compensated for? Because you have seller's regret for having taken a price which was too low? Sorry Ebay is for grown ups.

The buyer who rightfully bid and won the card didn’t get it….a multimillion dollar company did. It wouldn’t have been hard to correct the mistake and send it back to him. EBay lied to the buyer and myself when they said it was lost

Don’t know how you got to that conclusion. I caught the authenticator in a scam and eBay is covering for them to maintain credibility

'let me keep the funds'...you sold an item and made a sale...that's basically it.

I honestly fail to see the problem here.....
Non Deliverable....Return to Sender....You were paid....
Why would you care where the item ended up?
"...you discovered..."...what is a secondary shipper?
Just a reminder...your own return policy from the listing:
This item is final sale and cannot be returned.

It could have been lost before it was returned.
The buyer was refunded, you kept your payment, so everything is good.
