Most of my listings ship First Class and I charge a set $4.50. What do i have to do? Change all my listings to ground Advantage? Will they automatically change? I've read everything I see on this and have no idea what the answers are.

@mam98031 My 1st Class looks like this. It hasn't changed. According to Ebay for Business if you only have the 1st Class on a listing and don't have a secondary set up on it, they will automatically change it. I'm thinking the 1st Class may not change until the 9th since the rates aren't effective until the 9th. I just looked at one of your listings and it looks the same as mine.

You are right, I was mistaken. That is how mine read too.

You will have to manually adjust your shipping option from 1st class to Ground Advantage. On 9 July, I will be bulk editing all of my listings to update the shipping option from 1st class to Ground Advantage. That should be easy as long as the Bulk Editor cooperates on 9 July. 😎🙏😁
👍 Though I might do that July 7 or 8 just in case everyone starts bulk editing and the site explodes as it is wont to do.

Hi Bill!
On or shortly after the 9th. Go to that business policy and change the shipping status from Retail Ground to Advantage.
That is my plan anyways.

That might be a good strategy, although before July 9 your potential buyers will see the 1-pound prices for Parcel Select Ground rather than the prices for First Class.

sorry, not able to provide the link. someone else on this thread posted it though. You can message Ebay for Business on FB, they are very good at getting back to you. They are a very reliable source of info.

I looked back over this thread and still do not see any info that states your claim that 1st class will automatically be updated and the information just came out yesterday. I want it to be true. Which post?

According to Ebay for Business if you only have the one 1st Class shipping on your listing, Ebay will automatically update it. But if you have a secondary USPS shipping on that listing such as 1st Class and Priority you will have to manually change your 1st Class to the Ground Advantage. I'm not aware that there has been an official announcement of this and have only seen it from Ebay for Business. I think it's best not to change anything at this time and wait to see what happens on 9th. Everyone has 30 days from the 9th to make any changes they need to make. Many seem to be jumping the gun on this and may be causing more work for themselves than is needed.

I sure hope that's true. I have large mix of flat rate and calculated 1st class. Their initial announcement (sited above in this thread) states 1st class have to be manually revised. So I would hope if this has changed, they would make another announcement to clarify.

@fern*wood I agree. It's caused a lot of confusion. But I still think it best to wait before manually making any changes and then see how it's affected our listings. It's not effective until the 9th anyway. eBay changed my Parcel Select shipping policy over yesterday to the Ground Advantage. If you change your 1st Class now, the rate is going be higher and you won't get the discount because the shipping calculator is not showing the discounted rates for Ground Advantage yet and probably won't until the 9th.

I haven't attempted to fix any of mine yet. 😐

I can confirm this. I edited my (only) shipping business policy from First Class to Ground Advantage and... shipping doubled, from 3.84 to 7.24! I changed it right back!

rmorganart has also posted about this. I got this on an announcement from Ebay for Business on FB yesterday.

I'm a worrier so I hope ebay for business is talking about our listings being automatically updated and not the part of the announcement that states our labels will automatically print as ground advantage.
Anyone from ebay care to clarify. Not everyone has facebook and we all need the clarity.

Not if you set your own pricing on shipping or you offer free shipping. They see what the seller entered as fixed shipping.
