Getting My Account Unrestricted

Hello Everyone -

So I got an email/message from eBay saying that my account has been restricted from selling. I believe this was because 2 cases were opened against me at once. The first case was because USPS never picked up an item so it was shipped out a day late, but the buyer closed the case after I explained it to him. The second case was a buyer who claimed their package didn't include the power cables. I'm pretty sure it did but I issued him a return anyway.

My question is - how do I get my account unrestricted. I tried replying to the email like the message said but I got an automatic message directing me to their support page.

What do you mean by "restricted"?   Are you suspended?  The notice from eBay should tell you why you have been restricted or suspended. 

Generally speaking, unless the restriction or suspension gives a duration (e.g., 7 days), then I would assume it is permanent, and the only recourse would be to appeal to eBay to get it lifted.   It is rare that a suspended selling account gets reversed.   (One exception to this would be if you are under-age, and selling on eBay ... then the suspension can be lifted when the seller is 18).

The two instances you mention should not be a problem so long as eBay was not asked to step in and resolve the problems ... if you were battling your customers and eBay was asked to step in, then that would be two seller defects and enough to get your account suspended.

I agree with Orange.  What you describe should not have caused such an extreme reaction by Ebay.

Would you please cut and paste the body of the email you received from Ebay into a post here.  Leave out any personal identifying info.  We don't need that stuff.  But we may spot something in the email that will give us a clue as to what is going on and how to further help you.

Any chance you have sold Ebay listed items outside or have avoided transactions trough Ebay to keep from having to pay selling fee`s ?  I see you are a new seller, did you create this account to abandon another with a poor seller rating?

The disputes didn't last long and were pretty much settled right away. I've never sold an eBay listing outside of eBay. Here's the email I got from eBay:

MC011 Your eBay selling account has been restricted

 Hello lural-0,

 A review of your eBay account has raised some concern that your use of services may not meet the guidelines in eBay's User Agreement. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:

 - Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted. You won't be able to list new items or revise current listings. You're also not allowed to register a new account.

 - Some or all of your listings may have been removed. Any removed items will be listed further down in this email.

  - We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

 To appeal this restriction, you'll need to:

You can Google that MC011 restriction, there are lots of reasons for it..too many cases opened,selling fakes,selling outside of Ebay,linked to another bad account,etc.

Yes, but how do I go about appealing it? All items have been shipped out but when I responded to the email, I got an automatic response about going to the eBay help page to get help.

Are you entering your tracking numbers into Ebay when you ship items or do you use the Ebay shipping label system?  It sounds like Ebay isn't liking something you are doing regarding shipping.  

You are a new seller, so if Ebay is seeing a consistent problem, they typically react.  It is likely to be something really easy to fix.  

Tell us how you ship.  What is your process?  Do you ship online with Ebay, do you ship via another online provider of postage or do you take your times to the PO and buy shipping there?

I purchase my shipping right from eBay and either bring them to the Post Office or have then picked up the day after.

Humm.  I'm not at all sure any of us can help you further.  I too think you have got to contact Ebay.  I would not however call Ebay.  The call center is really hit and miss on getting someone with the training and knowledge to help you.  But you have alternatives.  You can contact Ebay on Twitter or Facebook.  Below are the links.
