Getting Approved To Sell Digital Codes

I have a small amount of Pokemon cards that have digital codes on them for TCG Online and I see where people sell them individually and just send the code via eBay message. I decided to give it a try ( without doing any research, or much thought apparently 🤦🏻‍) , but after 1 order I realized I'm not shipping anything so I had to just mark it shipped and pray nothing goes wrong. I immediately ended the listing because I don't want to risk my Top Rated seller status over 58 Pokemon cards.... But I was reading that sellers CAN be approved to sell digital items. My question is - How can I go about requesting approval? I have looked for many days trying to figure it out and I just can not find where to do so. I can't even find out how to contact eBay to ask them myself 😅

Thank you for reading this and thanks in advance for any advise or insights anyone can give 🙂

I did list the cards as a lot that will be shipped, but I would make at LEAST twice the amount selling them individually. I just want to be able to do it the right way.

Getting Approved To Sell Digital Codes

Hi @ladonnamart

This is what you have been looking for. Below is a policy that provides a link to the submission form to become a pre-approved seller of digital goods. Scroll to the heading entitled, “Products requiring additional approval”.

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/products-eligibility-requirements-pol...

If you are prevented from listing an item and you meet all the requirements above, then you may request approval here - opens in new window or tab. Please enter your eBay username and the type of product you wish to sell in the comments section of the document upload page…”

Thank you, I did come across this but I was not sure if it was the right place, and then I lost the page completely LOL so thank you for confirming that for me! Once I send a request, how long do you think it will take eBay to get back to me with an answer? Like 24 hours, or a week? (guessing)

eBay will ask if you have permission to sell such codes. You would need permission from Game Freak, Nintendo or Creatures they own all the copyrights to everything Pokemon.

I tried it years ago, but don't remember how long it took to get the first email.

They'll send an email wanting to now what kind of items you want to sell and if you created/own the items or have the right to sell them.

Have a great day.

Hi @ladonnamart You are most welcome.

The eligibility criteria are pretty straight forward, verifying that part wouldn’t take much time, i would think. But afraid this isn't my area of experience. (I would just be guessing, too.)

Do hope this gets resolved quickly and to your benefit. Best of luck!
