Geico Advertisements

I have one complaint.  I pay good money in fees when I sell something.  I don't appreciate seeing "Geico" advertisements on my for sale pages.  That is not treating your customers correctly.

You're preaching to the choir, however those employees responsible for that are just following orders and those who gave the orders did so out of recommendations... Then, those who gave the recommendations are about as educated about web sites and selling as you and I are about the interplanetary relationship between Mars and Venus.

We've tried and tried to explain it, once or twice they listened and removed the ads, just for them to re-appear months later.  Now I just let the ship sink, I'm tired of trying to save them from themselves.

They don't understand.

There is probably more to it, but that's the gist of it.

I don't think any seller likes it. But every seller agreed to let eBay do it

"Seller fees don't purchase exclusive rights to item exposure on our Services. We may display third-party advertisements (including links and references thereto) or other content in any part of our Services, in our sole discretion and without consent from, or payment, fee reduction, or other credit to, sellers."

Re: Geico Advertisements

Because I use a desktop browser with an ad blocker, I see no third-party ads on your listings.

I would suggest that others that do not wish to see ads do likewise.

Here too - and I love the 'block element' feature too. Gets rid of the inyourFacebook, Pinterest, etc. buttons.

Even better - if you read/watch the news online, I block the PA governor and health secretary photos. I don't need to see them.

@toy-boy

Think of it this way: if eBay sells ad space to Geico (or any other company) that helps with keeping YOUR fees down. Ad revenue can really be a boost to a company's bottom line . . .

P.S. I, too, use an adblocker and never see these kinds of advertisements. Of course, I don't ever see Promoted Listings from eBay sellers, either, so it works both ways.

Anyone with any marketing experience will understand the need for advertisement of some sort. None of us like it but we all have to endure some for the sake of the almighty dollar....

" I don't appreciate seeing "Geico" advertisements on my for sale pages."

---------

I've seen no policy that states eBay grants you the Entire page when you pay for a listing.

Many of us think ... that eBay thinks.. that you only paid for the portion of the page that your listing covers.

Kinda like a newspaper classified ad.

When I list my .. let's say, 2015 Ford for sale in a newspaper .. that advertisement sits next to everyone else's ad .. for their cars.

I don't get the whole page, or even the entire column.
