Gallery Plus Fee

I listed an item yesterday (used the sell one like this button) and after I listed it I noticed I was charged $1.00 for Gallery Plus even though it said the listing fee will be $0.00! 

This was on the iPhone and eBay would only remove the fee using a 'one-time courtesy'. 

I tried to re-create the issue using the sell one like this as before and on the PC it did had Gallery Plus checked and at the very bottom it said Fees $1.00

However on the iPhone (the same draft) it still said $0.00 listing fee!

How can I avoid this situation besides not using the phone to list? because apparently ebay won't refund you...

always make sure any extra fee boxes are unchecked if you choose not to pay AND always make sure before you hit that list button the fees are showing ZERO! that is all you can do. learn to double check everything before hitting submit!

The thing is, it did and it does say $0.00 on iPhone but it still charged me. While replicating the issue I saw that the fees only showed up on desktop not on mobile.

On mobile phones it doesn't even give you those extra options?

I feel like I won't list with my phone anymore since if I get charged (by software error) there's nothing I can do 😕

THIS IS A MUST WHEN CREATING ANY LISTING, RELIST OR SELL SIMILAR.  SNEAKY EBAY WILL DEFAULT YOUR SETTINGS TO CHECK THE BOXES THAT ADD FEES, AND LIKE YOU FOUND OUT ONCE YOU HIT SUBMIT YOU ARE CHARGED.

You can't.  The mobile site is very glitchy and there have been a plethora of threads about all of the things wrong with it on top of the pc site.  Just use a computer.... I've never had that issue on a pc.

I have had this happen a number of times, maybe 1 out of 3, on my PC, I don't use a phone-- I fill out a template, whether new or sell like item, and the listing is free, then I preveiw the listing before posting, then go back and edit something, and a charge for gallery plus or other picture fee nonsense has been checked and a fee added to the listing which was unchecked and free a second ago. So I uncheck and refresh and it's free again.

Now I never list without double-checking the listing because of ebay's fee "glitch" which probably isn't.

Galley Plus is free only for a small number of categories. If you are not selling in one of those categories, then make sure the box is not checked.

Also, never use "sell one like this" accessed via somebody else's listing. Always establish your own template(s) and use "sell similar" to make any content changes. Your basic boilerplate details will be in place.

By the way, Gallery Plus is basically useless. Few buyers bother to click the image shown in the Search list -- they simply click through to the actual listing.

I have had the same problem, when listing an item with iphone, ipad and even my pc, I notice that even though I have un-checked the Gallery Plus, if i change the category it checks it back automatically.  I have called eBay several times and each time they have refunded the fee.

  It is not so much that we need to double check, but once we have unchecked it it should stay unchecked instead of it  being sneaked back in. I feel that eBay needs to take an additional step of correcting this issue. Once un-checked by the seller it should stay un-checked until checked again by the seller not by changing anything else in the lsiting!!

Please call ebay and reposrt the issue, if enough sellers call, they may come up with a solution.
