I try to avoid ordering GD items, but somehow I missed it on this one. On reviewing my Purchase History page, the GD date shown is yesterday 3/24. USPS tracking shows "In Transit - Delayed" with it now scheduled for Tomorrow.
What exactly is the guarantee? Without affecting the seller who did nothing wrong, will Corporate refund any portion since this is their GD program? This was a 'shipping included' item ( I want the term 'free shipping' abolished).

Interesting because this is a two item order, both showing the option, but shipped in one package with one tracking number. If I can hit Corporate up for $10 without harming the seller, so much the better.
I am right there with you on this one.
I am not out to hurt any fellow eBay sellers, and if a seller missed their on time handling time scan, I WILL NOT DO ANYTHING, nor will I be asking for the $5.00 voucher.
But if the seller does meets their commitments for the GD program like yours did and the package arrives late, as long as it remains eBay's wallet that I am getting to stick my hand into for the $5.00 through the end of this promotion period, welllll that is indeed are rare oppurtunity and I for one am going to take that it whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself.
The seller is going to receive the late delivery defect regardless of whether or not the buyer request the $5.00 voucher. If a buyer does absolutely nothing it will still not absolve the seller of the defect. That is going to be placed there automatically.
This is one of the few opportunities as well as the only way for eBay to get a small taste of the burden that they are asking their sellers to shoulder starting January 01, 2019, because DW and the brain trust believe that they have finally come up with the silver bullet idea that is going to allow them to compete on the same level as their competitor who owns its own fleet of planes, trains, and automobiles, along with a few warehouses; without actually having to make the same type or similar investment into a fleet of planes, trains, and automobiles themselves.

2) Handling time option:
For this option eBay will pay or issue a coupon if the seller got an acceptance scan within their handling time. If the seller didn't get that scan within their handling time, the seller will have to pay.
In response to an ASQ, the seller advised they took this option. Since tracking verifies the package was in the hands of the carrier within two hours, the seller should be clear if I grab the GD rebate, correct?

Yes, but according to the Blues, it's the seller's fault for not making sure the USPS properly trains their drivers and maintains their vehicles. And the seller is also responsible for the community not properly designing the roads.
Well, this looks like they are taking door to door delivery a bit too far ...........

@chrysylyswrote:I get a kick out of this whole GD Notion to begin with. That other place has their own fleet of cargo planes, trucks and local delivery drivers. They have their own mega distribution centers in nearly every state. They handle the entire process in many cases from stocking their faclities to processing orders to final delivery and even THEY can't get the delivery dates right.
I agree with this totally, the GD program IMO is just a disaster waiting to happen. And eBay will only foot the bill for so long, then eventually, it will fall back on sellers. Most sellers here use USPS, and honestly, they haven't been that stellar recently regarding deliveries. Even with meeting their own so called 'guaranteed' delivery times, let alone caring that shipments are made in a timey fashion for eBay sellers.

Vouchers were issued instantly.
We’re sorry your guaranteed delivery item didn’t arrive on time.
Thanks for letting us know that you’d like to receive a voucher. We’ve issued you a $5.00 voucher that you can use towards any purchase on eBay.
The voucher will be available in checkout before you pay and it expires 30 days from the date it’s issued.
I asked the seller to let me know if this come back on them in any way. I don't if they will or not. After all this back and forth, if they get hit, I'll be mighty ticked off.

This is what the checkout screen looks like. And yes, I used it to buy from another small seller.

So eBay did offer you 2 x $5.00 vouchers for your 2 item(s) order that was in a single box and shipped from the same seller? Is that correct?
I am just curious since moo*cow*corner and yourself are the first sellers that I have come across that have reported results from a buyers perspective for late deliveries.
My understanding and assumption was that eBay was just going to issue a $5.00 voucher, but now that I am looking more closely at it, the wording of the "Make It Right" terms and condition is in fact not explicitly clear.

Correctamundo.
Both items appeared on my Purchase History page and both had the 'Report Late Delivery' blurb under other actions.

Oh wow that is an interesting unexpected insight. I have always just assumed that it would be one (1) single $5.00 voucher per order that would be issued. So now what I am wondering is if a buyer purchases say eight (8) items from a single seller and that order is shipped in the same box at the same time, are they going to be offering buyers 8 x $5.00 vouchers = $40.00?
That could get expensive real quick. But the upside might be that they begin to reevaluate and soften up some those unrealistic Estimated Delivery Dates as this program moves forward.

That's one of the reasons I did this and asked to make sure it would not come from the seller.
I don't support the GD Program, but I may look for more in hopes of them missing the date so I can try to get more out of the pockets of the Corner Office Dwellers.
That's also why I bought stuff I didn't really need during the last two Promos. Corporate was footing the bill.
