Buyer claims they did not receive item..................After tracking details are posted, Ebay still withholds funds ................Why does Ebay continue to withhold funds?

Did they open an Item Not Receiver case? If so, and I assume they did, did you also put the tracking # into the case? You need to do that, even if it shows that it's in there.

Yes a case was opened and the tracking # was provided...............With the slow down of the post office, there is NO reason for Ebay to STILL withhold funds.........................Thanks

The buyer reports Item Not Received.

The seller puts the tracking number into the Dispute.

The tracking number shows item has not been received.

But the tracking number also shows the item is moving.

EBay puts a Hold on the seller's money because the buyer is right- the item is not received - but the seller is ALSO right- the item is on its way.

It's a breathing space.

Neither has the item and neither has the money.

When tracking shows the item Delivered, the money is released.

Remember this is not a Not Shipped dispute it is a Not Delivered dispute, and the tracking is the proof that it is not actually in the hands of the buyer -- yet.

PP did the same thing for years.

In the past few years PP relaxed that policy for some "in good standing" sellers.

eBay MP apparently has  a "one size fits all" hold of funds when an INR is opened.

But has the case been determined yet? I can understand the hold on funds until the case is determined in either way. That seems correct....

Why does eBay continue to withhold funds? Because they can.
