Freight Forwarders

Have an order this morning, same buyer as claim (same name), Russian Federation.  New/different freight-forwarder address in Oregon.

I BBL'd the prior ID.  Lost $230 + shipping/fees on that chargeback of unrecognized charge filed as soon as delivered to freight forwarder.

Can we cancel this order if they are circumventing our BBL?  (No choice for that)

Can we cancel for use of a freight-forwarder?

Where does it define exactly what "problem with Buyer's address mean" in the e-Bay written rules, protocols?

This is a $90 lego set.  I do not wish to ship.  Is it possible?

I have sent a message on facebook for biz.  Thx. I have 1 day handling, so needs to ship by tomorrow.

Re: Freight Forwarders

@katzrul15I would let the buyer know that you had a previous purchase from their username that was denied as being an unrecognized purchase. Let them know you have to cancel the purchase. Ask them to contact ebay to see if they can straighten out the issue on their account.

I had 3 orders that I canceled going to Oregon just this week. Now they repurchased using different usernames and ebay said the shipping address is valid and I have to ship. Each username was similar and the street address was the same house. They all had 0 or 2 feedbacks. I know feedback isn't always an indicator, but too many coincidences for me. I also added them all to my BBL.

Did you get your item(s) back? I can't believe how many new scams pop up every day.

Re: Freight Forwarders

No.  Lego sent went to Russian Federation.  I lost the chargeback claim.

So CS told you that you could cancel all 3?  Did you get that in writing?

Re: Freight Forwarders

I do not ship off shore - my decision, my business - so FF or not I do use 'problem with buyer address' because the ''buyer's address'' is in the RF, and the FF is NOT my buyer and I dare eBay to disagree with my logic.

I will keep using it until I get a slap (haven't had one in 10 years).

Re: Freight Forwarders

I also cancel any orders with a freight forwarding address and cite something is wrong with the buyers address.  I don't ship internationally.  I can't afford the responsibility for packages that are opened and inspected by customs agents, usually not with care.  They must have contests to see which agent can break the most items and who can do the shoddiest re-packing.  I report the buyer and mention they are circumventing a block.  EBay used to allow you to block buyers who 'lived in a country you don't ship to'  but changed the verbage to 'have a shipping adddress in a country you don't ship to'

Re: Freight Forwarders

eBay does not consider the use of a freight forwarder a legitimate reason

to cancel an order. The blues have said that many times.

But you can cancel the order using issue with buyers address if you have

reason to believe that they bypassed your Buyer Blocked List.

You will find this at the bottom of the page.

The burden of proof is (if you have reason to belive it's the same person).

Re: Freight Forwarders

How did you lose an INR with tracking showing delivery?

Re: Freight Forwarders

If you are asking the OP, it was not INR, it was a CCC - unrecognised charge

Re: Freight Forwarders

I will state this AGAIN:

I don't CARE what eBay's policy IS. If you do not want to sell internationally, you can't be forced to at YOUR own peril. FF are no different than shipping to the buyer yourself. There are NO protections and NO return label that can be issued through eBay, to get your items returned. Unless and UNTIL eBay provides a true "no returns/refunds" for shipping internationally, there is no reason ANY seller should HAVE to be forced into these well known international scams.

If eBay wants to take 100% of the responsibility, then I am all for it. Forcing any seller to sell internationally steps outside of the "platform" and into "partner" realm. No seller should be forced to watch some scammer steal their stuff by proxy.  If you don't want to ship internationally either by your own accord or by the buyer using a FF, then you should not be FORCED.

I personally do not mind selling lower dollar items internationally, but WILL NOT ship anything over a certain dollar amount outside the USA. Period.

ANYONE who believes otherwise, can pony up the money themselves or shut up. I don't reach into anyone else's pocket, stay out of MINE.

There is MUCH policy eBay needs to visit and REVISE. There should be absolutely NO protections for buyers using a FF after it show delivery to a FF.  eBay and sellers already offer options to ship internationally. If the buyer wants to use another service, then it should be at the BUYER'S risk.

If a buyer needs to return something, it should REQUIRE that ONLY a label from eBay will work to return something. Otherwise, buyer's should be out of luck.

Just these two simple changes, could eliminate the big portions of scams/problems.

Good to know. Any other eBay seller policies you're willing to violate? Asking for a friend . . .

@katzrul15

The correct answers to your questions concerning both cancelling transactions because a buyer is using a freight forwarder and cancelling a transaction because a buyer is trying to circumvent your BBL have been posted by @eunster1313 in Message #6.

I know you to be an honest, conscientious seller who strives to follow eBay policies and avoid violation thereof.

Re: Freight Forwarders

Yep, overlooked that.

Still that tracking to the chosen address should have taken care of that.

Sounds squirrely.

@monster-deals

You would be correct.  These were once the easiest "Payment Dispute" (aka chargeback) situation for which a seller could prevail.  eBay states in their policy that providing the tracking number that shows DELIVERED to the address provided with the shipment would exempt a seller for a chargeback claim of this nature.

Lately, however, that does not seem to be the case.  The card issuer finds in favor of the buyer, and the seller is thrown under the bus.   I don't know if the "doesn't recognize the charge" claim only shows delivery to the freight forwarder instead of the buyer in Russia, or the claim was made by the actual card holder which is NOT the buyer.  Sellers seem to be losing these with more frequency, though some find redress with the reps that man the eBay for Business Facebook page message system.

eBay regular customer service is NOT talking other than to say the usual and predictable "it is the credit card company and nothing we can do"  even in cases where the seller has satisfied all the requirements for seller protection.  The 'doesn't recognize the charge' "or phony snad claims" made directly to the payment provider and by passing the eBAy claim system. seems to be the new fast track to get a refund and keep the item for free. It dispenses with the need to submit those fake police reports and phony tracking numbers to eBay CS when an eBay claim is made.  A return of merchandise is not required by eBay when a Payment Dispute is used instead of an eBay claim for the buyer to get a refund.

Our OP here, should be good to go with a cancellation due to the buyer (of the same name) circumventing the buyer block.  I would think since all those addresses in Delaware, NY, NJ have become so famous that many will no longer sell to them, they have employed the services of those in Oregon instead.

@katzrul15

Good catch on the name.

Russia is so Gi-normous Oregon is closer for some Russian buyers and Delaware for others.  Remember Sarah Palin claimed she could see Russia from her somethingorother window.
