Free listings

No free listings since Xmas, is anyone else having this issue?

Before Christmas? It's been longer than that for me. Maybe 4 months or more.

They offered me some for .05 cents per at a time of the month I couldn't use them in January. .

It has been over 2 1/2 years now since I have had any promotions of any kind. I have contacted ebay so many times about this it is ridiculous. They have given me so many excuses I cannot remember all of them. The latest one is that there are requirements for sellers to get these promotions and for security reasons we cannot tell you what they are. Well after selling here for 17 years, giving them lots of my money, maintaining 100 percent feedback and doing everything right I cannot imagine why I am excluded. It is just not right any way I look at it.

I seem to remember that some info from an eBay employee where he said that eBay hands these out strategically ... primarily to entice certain sellers to list more of their category of inventory.  (Not as a reward for being a long-time seller or for being a good seller).

So, if you sell a category of merchandise that eBay might consider "saturated", they are not going to do anything to encourage you to list more ... conversely, if eBay considers a category of merchandise you sell to be in-demand and with relatively few listings, then they do promotions to boost listings in that category.

Finally, I'm pretty sure that generic free listings are not given out (or rarely given out) to store owners.

Hound is CORRECT !! Categories make a difference I BELIEVE !! I don't have a store and get my 50 free every month. I did occasionally ( maybe every 3 months ) get 100 more free listings and the 5 cent listings as well. But not recently!! Might happen soon since its been awhile.

Yeah - I'd take some five centers right now 🙂

They must be still salty I shrunk my store size... 😞

They are.  I've gotten about three since October and I have a store.

You must have a store. Those who do not have a store has been getting 50 freebies each and every month for quite some time now.

Jan 6 - 100 on both accounts

Jan 18 - 100 on both accounts

Jan 26 - 200 on both accounts

Feb 8 - 100 on both accounts

The best thing about ebay WAS the accessibility of the site in general.  Sellers could get there items up for sale and buyers could find them by searching properly.  Please don't tell me the world has changed so much in ten years.....perhaps we all missed the boat 🙂

I got a 5¢ offed last month but it was at the  beginning of the month and I hadn't used all my free ones yet.  Doesn't matter because I will never pay more fo list.  They get enough of my money.

You say you must have a store . For what getting the 100 free listings ??? No you don't. I have gotten 100 free listings many times and the 5 cent listings as well !! And I HAVE NO STORE !!

I do not have a store. I used to get free promotions frequently and all of a sudden 2 1/2 years ago they just stopped completely.It is like I am forgotten here. I do not want to pay the extra to get a store if things are not selling then I am wasting more money. This is always how I have operated and quite successfully until the last year or so and it has been on a slide downward since then.

I do not have a store either but have gotten the promotion on occasion.   It seems it it offered near quarterly reporting so the site appears to be thriving.   I try not to list much during the free listing promotions as they tend to clog up the site making sales even thinner.    I say Be Careful What You Wish For.
