Fraudulent Website

Many of my listings including listings by other stores on Ebay are showing up on this fraudulent website.

thaiaktuell.com  My images have my handwritten tags and the descriptions for items are copied exactly.  I sell only original paper collectibles and most of them are one of a kind.  The store goes so far to allow you to buy multiple of items that I know this store doesn't have and selling them at lower prices to hook buyers.  I am filling out a report to Ebay.  When I googled it on Reddit it had comments it was a total scam.  Letting other Ebay members know.

Re: Fraudulent Website

Honestly not much you can do, if you list an item it belongs to the Internet

Please do let us know what eBay tells you about this

Re: Fraudulent Website

I had this exact problem with server parts I like selling.
Learn how to water mark your images. You can report the auctions you are seeing using your images.  You can download GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP for short) for FREE. Search youtube and internet for how to watermark your images using GIMP. Once you learn how to watermark your images the first time it's a simple copy and paste after you save a template. Don't forget to flatten an image you watermark so the water mark can't be removed.

Re: Fraudulent Website

When we post a pic on Ebay, it can be used by anyone.  It is covered in the User Agreement we all agreed to so that we could sell on this site.

@texasjohnnyboy great catch! Not only does that site exhibit a multitude of giant red flags for some seriously shady fraudulent activity, following some breadcrumbs gleaned from investigating it led me to over 3,000 other sites doing exactly the same thing. 👀

I definitely do not advise anyone to go there and if you do, for sure do not give them any credit card or personal info.

Unfortunately, this is not a new scam as we've seen reports like this for years. There's a wide variety of brand monitoring and security solutions that could help proactively prevent this kind of mass site scraping and you would think eBay would be more concerned about brand damage and consumer harm, not to mention potential GMV being lost to these fraudsters but....here we are.
