For feedback extortion - question

Does ebay respond and remove feedback (behind the scenes) if it's reported through the feedback page?

There's no real "feedback extortion" option to report (i.e., buyer offered to change feedback in exchange for partial refund) other than "Buyer demanded something that was not offered in my listing."

Or am I better off contacting CS, directing them to the message and requesting removal?

These are the choices on the feedback page:

The first thing you should do @albertabrightalberta is file that report from your screenshot and use the "buyer demanded" option.

After you file that report, you should go here and formally request FB removal. In the comments section you can mention that you filed a report on the buyer for their abuse of policy.

Reports are designed as such:

When there's enough, something MIGHT be done.

MIGHT.

But, you'll never know it; never be notified.

But..it's always good to report as eventually, something 'MIGHT' be done about that person.

@albertabrightalberta

Report the Buyer as outlined by @wastingtime101  and then contact e-BAY CS on Facebook for Business and ask them to remove it.  They will.

@wastingtime101

@katzrul15

Thank you both for your replies.

I did report through the feedback, choosing that the buyer requested something not listed in the listing. (That was the best option given the choices.)

Then in the description, I mentioned, "feedback extortion, including a C&P of the buyer's message stating that if I'm willing to return part of the cost of item, she will change the feedback."

I then reported through the link that @wastingtime101 recommended.

If it's not removed tomorrow, I'll go to the facebook page.

Thank you again.

Re: For feedback extortion - question

UPDATE!

After requesting a feedback revision from the buyer and getting the extortion offer, I reported the feedback.

Next I reported through the link @wastingtime101 recommended for abuse of policy.

Within 1/2 hour, the feedback was removed! It wasn't necessary to go through facebook.

LOL! Does the buyer get an email when a feedback is removed?

Re: For feedback extortion - question

I don't think so, but they seem to enjoy going back to check what it looks later, kind of a ''scene of the crime'' mentality if the number of posts about it here are any indication  LOL

Re: For feedback extortion - question

This just happened to me. I sell plants un-sterilized for koi ponds and aquariums. Have thousands of happy customers who understand sometimes the plants get damaged in shipping. I offer full refund or replacement. Buyer decides. Some buyers feel they are buying from petco and don't understand what to expect. As for the "worms" there aren't any. It's string algae that fish eat immediately if it's on the plants.

Buyer wrote

"Refund please because there’s were worms in my order. I will delete my bad review if I get a full refund. "

I gave full refund as my policy if buyer asks. Negative feedback is still up. Reported it to ebay as stated to do above. Ebay got back to me and didn't do anything. Buyer has only 25 feedbacks and I have over 2100. Why does ebay not take care of us sellers that make them money and coddle scammers?  Pi**es me off because everything about their message is extortion. Ebay wont let me refile another report either. Now I'm out money and have false negative feedback customer gave.
