Florida Hurricane

I noticed that Ebay has NOT put out any message that they will protect sellers due to Hurricane Irma in Florida. I have packages going there.

Re: Florida Hurricane

Thanks much for the info. One would think Ebay would send out a message via their message center.

Re: Florida Hurricane

Those announcements are regarding sellers living in the hurricane areas. The original poster is concerned about getting package to FL.
Two different scenarios. Ebay is suggesting that sellers close shop or end auctions. I am pretty sure that they aren't suggesting that to every seller. Yet, many buyers from Florida were making purchases while they were "hunkered down". The question is what happens when we ship and they sit ...who know where...for how long...because we know the post office in that zipped is closed.

Re: Florida Hurricane

If it's shipped, it will go to a distribution center, where it is held until it can be delivered to the post office. The buyer should be aware if their PO is opened or closed.

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Re: Florida Hurricane

As long as you got an acceptance scan within your stated handling time, you'll be fine.  I've had packages take scenic tours and arrive nearly a week after their expected delivery date and didn't get dinged for them because I had the acceptance scan within my handling time.  If you have that scan, it doesn't matter how long it takes for delivery-- it will still count as being on time.

Re: Florida Hurricane

I also know in the past, that while a package sat at the buyers post office as undeliverable to a confirmed address the buyer filed a INR and eBay refunded buyer for shipping and cost of item. A few weeks later the package did make it back to me at which point the buyer wanted me to send it again on my dime ...this time providing me the same address with apt number. Ebay was nice enough not to dig my account and suggested I send it again...even though the confirmed address still didn't have an apartment number.
