Is anyone out there having problems with their first class packages not delivering on time or at all in Mexico? The tracking numbers are all tracking up to Mexico City and then they stop and my customers or their local post office can not find any information beyond that. This is the 3rd package that has not delivered on time and I had to send full refund to my buyer because the Post office shows no movement since feb. 1st in Mexico City. I am thinking on getting rid of First class on all international packages so I can get full tracking info. Anyone else have this problem and what shipping methods work best for international shipments.

This is not the answer to your question, but shouldn't those buyers in Mexico be contacting their local post offices about this?

Unfortunate that First class does not come with USPS insurance or you could file a claim with USPS although there are some unique issues when the package ships internationally. If you are going to continue to sell internationally you may want to consider using the eBay GSP. It is the only way I ship internationally. While it slows delivery by a few days because of the dual hop processing through Kentucky the benefits far outweigh the delays.

My own experiences have indicated that the slowdown happens when the package reaches Mexico Customs -- it often takes a MONTH to be released.
My understanding is that USPS International Priority provides the tracking which you want; but the price for your buyers in Mexico may be overwhelming, depending upon what you are selling.
Good luck.

One of the nice things about the eBay GSP is the custom fees are collected from the buyer up front so it does not have to sit in customs waiting for the buyer to pay the customs fees. I have shipped a few items to Mexico through the GSP that cleared customs without any problem and were delivered to the buyer on time. If there were to be a delay or an INR filed by the buyer the GSP handles it.

USPS FCPI does not offer edelcon to Mexico (link) so you'll never see door-to-door tracking.
Ship using a different method - maybe eBay International Standard Delivery would work better for you (EISD) or the Global Shipping Program (GSP). There are direct, tracked shipping options available so you could explore those, as well.
