Finding old listings

I haven't been active since pre-pandemic.  I went into Mybay today to relist unsold items but they are all gone.  Any way to bring them back?

I don't think you can get them back. Ebay keeps them in Unsold for 3 months and then dumps them. It may be 2 months if you don't have a store, I'm not sure. When I have wanted to preserve an inactive listing, I have made it a draft and then altered and resaved the draft every so often.

No, they are gone for good.

You'll have to start fresh.

"Pre-pandemic" meaning March of 2020 or earlier? Those are long gone from eBay. One strategy that works for me to retrieve older listings is to find the exact title of my old listing from any message about it that's stored in the email account tied to my eBay sales. I then paste that title (or at least the first 7-8 words of it) into the Search field at Worthpoint.com and see if they have an archived copy there.

I sell in a niche market so I can usually find my old listings there. More mainstream categories with many more instances of similar listings might be a little harder to work with, but give it a shot and see if that works.

Do you have to subscribe there to search?

Nope. The only thing that's concealed if you're not a subscriber to Worthpoint is the final sale price, which of course I know already as it's my own old listing.

In the past, they didn't. I could retrieve old listings of mine from years before (I think my personal record for oldest retrieved listing was about six years, finding a 2013 listing when I went looking for it sometime around 2019), but they no longer archive anything that long anymore.

Back then, they generally dumped the images after 6 months to a year, but you could still pull up the remainder of the listing (text takes a lot less storage space than images) for years after it ended. Not anymore, though. Now my only resource for listings that I didn't save (i.e. saving the listing titles, descriptions and Item Specifics so that I don't have to write them all over again) is Worthpoint, which works for me most of the time, though not always.

That just is not true.  Old listings have always gone away after about 90 days.  I've been selling here since 1998.  Early on they may not have gone away as fast but for the last 20 years yes.

Yep, I just found that out.  I was taking care of my husband for two years and had no time to log in.  Just got back and it's all gone.  On the plus side, at least I saved all that old information and can redo it all.  But it's over 100 listings, and it will be a lot of work.  Maybe I'll do some changes, and I do know how to go about it.
