This is actually what I was writing e-bay about when I noticed I chose Forum by accident. So, I went ahead and posted it to see if you guys can explain this to me. If you don't mind. 😕

Hi, I recently started selling items on E-bay and I noticed that you are collecting a Final Value Fee that includes the shipping cost. How can you include the shipping cost? What does the shipping have to do with the cost of the item being sold which is usually half that? And not that it matters any but I don't even buy my labels or anything from e-bay. And It never even ends up being the same shipping price once I get down to the Post Office as what they paid. So I always end up giving them a 4-dollar or so shipping refund, sometimes more. This doesn't make sense to me at all. The last thing I sold was a $10 dollar toy that e-bay then took $3.87 of it. But if I up the price I would never be able to sell it because as it is the shipping on things is way too much! Can you explain this, please?

Bad idea.

If you are entering amounts BELOW the actual measurements, your buyers may eventually be charged with "Postage Due" by the post office -- and that's ALWAYS bad for business.

As others have stated -- purchase a postal scale from Amazon, or Staples, or Office Max, or any other office supply company, so that you can weigh your packages accurately.

And start measuring your packages accurately, as well -- the rule is to round up the measurement to the next inch. So for a 10-1/4" length, the true measurement is 11" -- not 10".

And start purchasing your postage labels through eBay -- you'll save a TON of money on each purchase!

As for selling Beanie Babies -- I thought that that ship had sunk 20 years ago. . ..

USPS policy on dimensions is to round off to the nearest inch. You can see an illustration with an example in the discussion of dimensional weight here, showing that 20 1/4 inch is rounded off to 20 inches:

I'm not sure where you guys are seeing these prices? You're the second person to see something I am not seeing. All the Bears are $9 and some change in shipping? Can you tell me what you are looking at? I am also hearing that the prices are all over the place but all the bears have pretty much the same shipping cost? Same with the others?

Following are some examples of what I see for some of your items. I am located in Virginia so shipping from CA is probably a bit more than for those in your own zone. I am assuming you are using calculated shipping. The variance in the shipping is due to the difference in the weight and dim's you have set in each of the listings.
