I have auto-feedback set, when buyer pays and leaves feedback they receive positive feedback automatically. My buyers are getting feedback from me automatically, but I'm not getting feedback from them. Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm a new seller.

It's not just auto or not. Maybe it's changed since you last checked that setting. There's an option to only leave auto feedback when the buyer has paid and left me positive feedback.

Thank you for that screenshot! I don't think many of the commenters understand what I'm talking about. This explains it perfectly.

Sure, that comment by me was primarily intended for another user. I don't know why the setting you are using isn't functioning the way you intend it to.
I will say, I would suggest you consider changing your settings to just leave feedback for all buyers who pay, though. Buyers cannot receive less than positive feedback, and you cannot leave warnings for other sellers in your buyer feedback (not that some sellers don't, but if the buyers complain to eBay it will be removed and it could negatively impact the seller). Because of that, I think of it like a "Thank you" as you're leaving a physical retail store. You would say that regardless of whether the buyer turns around and comes back with a return or issue. And in my opinion, though I don't have any hard data to back this up, I think that leaving it for customers makes it more likely they'll leave positive feedback for you.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not really worried about the buyer not leaving me feedback, but the way I have auto feedback set, they're not supposed to get feedback from me unless they've paid for the item and left me a positive. I'm just trying to figure out why the setting is not working the way it's supposed to.

In your original message, you asked why you're not getting feedback from them when you leave it automatically for them. Simple answer: It's not required and therefore not everyone leaves it.
Then you state that what you actually want is to be able to set your auto FB so that only buyers who've left it receive it so I guess that was your goal. Not sure it can be done, but why? Buyers can only receive positives anyway so why not just leave your setup as is? What harm does it do to you or your eBay rep?
Also, you may not know this, but a good number of eBay sellers would be delighted if the entire process were abandoned, since the FB process is heavily skewed in favor of buyers.
PS: That neutral you left for a seller regarding the item price doesn't make you look good since everyone who reads it is fully aware that you saw the price BEFORE making your purchase. That alone could've put you on some sellers' special lists.

@jonathanbrightlight wrote:@stainlessenginecovers There is explicitly a setting for that.
@jonathanbrightlight and I explicitly used the english language so that it was easily understood...as I said (I put the important part in large red lettering for your viewing pleasure)
(and I'll add the OP since they also must not have understood what I said)
The auto feedback does NOT allow it to be set up to ONLY leave when buyer leaves (if there's a setting for that, it has NEVER worked that way).

You might want to look at the auto feedback settings. It seems like you don't understand the option I'm referring to. I'm sorry you feel the need to be nasty to someone just asking a question. I hope you have a better day!

No reason to be rude. You said "If", so I provided the exact options that are shown. I made no comment about whether the setting worked.

I also have auto feedback.
Everyone who buys from me gets a positive feedback thanking them for their purchase.
You're not doing anything wrong. It's just that buyers don't leave as much feedback as they used to.
I receive about 10% feedback or 1 out of every 10 transactions. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yep, there is an option to leave feedback. Automatically after a buyer has left feedback for seller. I don’t use it, but plenty of sellers do.

Again, in your first message here, it looked like your complaint was that you were leaving FB for buyers, but they were not leaving FB for you.
Later it seems like you want to make sure that your automatic FB is left for only buyers who have (a) paid and (2) left FB.
There seems to be some dissention about whether or not that can be done.
And my attitude is still this: What is to be gained by withholding FB from buyers? You can only leave positive or none at all.

It can be done. Again, you might want to check out the auto reply option. You might better understand my question. Also, I will leave buyer feedback regardless, but the setting isn't working as it's supposed to for some reason. a couple of other sellers have posted a screenshot of the setting page I'm referring to. It may make more sense to you'd read one of them. I probably won't ask anymore questions here in the community as there seems to be members that are more interested in being condescending and rude then trying to help other sellers. I mistakenly thought this was what the community was for.

Some sellers want to wait to see how a sale ends. If buyer leaves nasty feedback, they don’t want to provide the reward of positive feedback - understood that it is a tiny reward - to the buyer . I don’t worry about such things, but that is certainly within the rights of the seller.

I'm seeing less and less leave fb. Last I checked it was about 25-30% of them. I guess it's just a sign of the times. Everyone is too busy nowadays.
I personally don't like the auto. I like to give my repeat customers the best feedback and the newbies (under 100) just a nice short one like quick payment and we look forward to working with you again.
Welcome to ebay and good luck to you! The fb will come!
