Feedback

As a seller I used to leave positive feedback for a transaction where someone bought something from me. Just after I post positive feedback the buyer then leaves horrible negative feedback for me. The buyer waits until I post positive feedback. The buyer posts no feedback until I post positive feedback for them. Then they post negative feedback.  I may then not change my positive buyer feedback. eBay could care less! Buyers should not be able to leave negative feedback once the seller posts positive feedback for a sold item.  At the least sellers should be able to remove negative feedback from buyers if they, the seller, has already posted positive feedback for the transaction. Seller's should opt out of leaving any feedback at all. Opt out of the feedback system. I wrote a letter to the head of eBay. Nothing was done at all. They could care less. eBay has the ability to fix their feedback system but refuses to do so!

Re: Feedback

I have tested this greatly.

Anything you do after the sale to remind the customer of the sale increases your chances of the customer finding a problem with the sale.

When I was selling extremely high volume I used to save up feedback and drop them 1000 at a time. However I found that dropping 1000 feedback always had the result of 3-8 people suddenly having a problem with the transaction.

This is why I automatically post feedback when the customer buys the item and I don't use packing slips.

Packing slips can have the exact same effect. Some customers order insane amounts of things often very similar items. When they realize they overspent then the boxes with packing slips are the first things to get returned as they don't have to figure out where those items came from. Without a packing slip they have to figure out which of the 400 Salt Shakers they ordered last month from 9 different web sites was the one they want to return.

Unless you're referring to a seller replying to a negative FB from a buyer, you actually cannot "leave 'em on right back.

You're right, and I know that.

Not sure why I said that?    😉
