Feedback needs to end

Feedback for Buyers is Not allowed, and only one in 8 buyers leaves feedback no matter how fast I ship, how well I pack, or how well I take care of their questions.  It's a stupid outdated system that allows someone buying a 28Cent item to derail an excellent sales record over myriad years.  I've never had a red mark but I buy from people with multiple red marks every day.  And, their red marks are for all kinds of reasons.  Look eBay gives the buyer his money back or forces the seller to do a refund no matter what, so getting poked in the eye for all the effort involved just isn't worth it.  I hereby quit giving feedback to anyone that doesn't leave me feedback first and I consider that a lame courtesy because all it does is strokes an ego out there some where.   It is laughable.  Feedback used to be important, though often abused.  It's still abused but it has no importance when refunds are going to be delivered no matter what.  I'm  never going to "Ask" someone for feedback like some sellers do all the time.   It's just a bleedin Joke!  Time for Feedback to go!

Feedback needs to end

I agree that FB is outdated. I’m not sure what the answer is but the FB system needs a whole redo.

"I hereby quit giving feedback to anyone that doesn't leave me feedback first"

....  especially if they are a zero feedback buyer.  My experiences have been they are the most likely to open a case, and it's usually within hours of receiving positive feedback.

@tdebuys"Feedback for Buyers is Not allowed"

Correct answer: Feedback for buyers IS allowed. However sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers nor can they leave a negative comment.

@tdebuys"Look eBay gives the buyer his money back or forces the seller to do a refund no matter what"

Correct answer: If the buyer files a NAD return request, ebay does require you to work with the buyer and if the buyer wants a refund, eventually they get it.

@tdebuys"getting poked in the eye for all the effort involved just isn't worth it. "

Correct answer: That's your decision and prerogative

@tdebuys" I hereby quit giving feedback to anyone that doesn't leave me feedback"

Correct answer: That's also your decision and prerogative

Feel better?

Agreed...Number of  Items a Seller or Store has Sold is far more important then how fast it got there.

Or  I love it

As we all know feedback is voluntary, but in saying that it was once a helpful tool in deciding whether or not to buy from a seller. The only feedback I get these days is from a seller I have purchased from , and even that has become a rarity! That being said, feedback has become a less than reliable tool, and provides little worth only to increase our seller numbers!

Oops, I missed a detail.

@tdebuys"Look eBay gives the buyer his money back or forces the seller to do a refund no matter what"

Correct answer: I responded to this comment above but at the time, neglected to look at your own policies.

In your case, the buyer DOES get his money back and/or forces the seller to do a refund "no matter what" because you have a return policy! When you have a return policy as you do, YES, you have to accept returns for any reason or for no reason in accordance with your own 30 day return policy.

And another comment, in looking at your "terms and conditions," I see that you have the following statement:

"INDIANA SALES TAX

An added 7% sales tax is charged on all sales in Indiana!
This is disallowed! You can't charge your customers sales tax for your state. Ebay collects any taxes due from the buyer for payment to the buyer's own state, but that has nothing to do with you.

If you've been collecting Indiana sales taxes from buyers, you owe a lot of refunds.

Good catch! That is really a no no, and how did he/she get away with doing that without someone reporting them?

I just sold 20 pieces not even 10 minutes ago at auction

10 of these buyers were repeat buyers and I am sure they will be leaving me feedback

as soon as I ship I leave feedback. its a leap of faith kind of thing

I am so happy for my regulars. I get at least 50% feedback so I am not complaining

I dont really care about feedback either. I am happy for my repeats

You have sold 28 items in the last 90 days

on May 29th you sold an EAPG heisy glass.

you have received 17 feedback as a seller in the last 90 days since selling that EAPG on May 29

that shoots a hole in your theory about 1/8 ratio.

you are getting  better than 50 percent feedback as a seller

why come here with distorted numbers.I can count and I can see what you have sold and when it was sold

what gives

Sometimes, NO feedback is GOOD feedback. Some buyers only leave feedback when they are upset or something went wrong.

How fast you ship, how well you pack and how well you take care of their questions... You are expected to do all of this top notch and professionally to begin with. Some buyers don't feel the need to give feedback when you do what was "expected" of you.

Also, you already have a 2610 feedback score... how much more feedback do you need?... You're over the hump... some occasional feedback to "sustain" should be fine...

Sometimes, playing the "feedback" game only irritates people

I was recently sent a message by a seller, offering me a store coupon if I left feedback for them. It actually turned me off and made me quite irritated. I felt like a dirty ... (I'll skip this word) ... doing whatever was asked of me for some money. Doesn't make me feel good being solicited.

Let me fix that for you:  Negative feedback for buyers is not allowed.

And, as you know, FB is not required/mandatory.

So handle FB in whatever way you want.

You don't participate as a buyer or seller.  In fact you haven't done anything but write notes on the "Community Boards" for as long as I can see back.   It would be my humble opinion you aren't a very nice person.   Listing every thing I say as "right" and then using a smug "FEEL BETTER?" remark is both unkind and insincere.  You are certainly entitled to your opinion but I have to wonder why you were so diligent in attacking me for mine????  Feedback is indeed a joke, just not as funny as you.

I wish I did get to charge somebody for something.  AS YOU SURELY KNOW... (if you were a seller) EBAY does all the charging for every aspect of a sale.  They even state that sending an invoice isn't necessary don't they???"?  YES they do.  I don't even get paid by a customer anymore... eBay sends them a bill with taxes, shipping, and the cost of goods purchased.  The customer pays eBay who then manages to give me what is left after deducting their charges, fees, etc.   A seller can say almost anything in "their terms" but it doesn't mean squat.   A seller can say they don't accept returns, they can say they don't give refunds, they can say all sorts of things in the "Sellers Terms" but they all MEAN NOTHING because eBay has already removed all those possibilities from sellers. Ebay collects shipping.  Ebay issues Refunds.  Ebay collects taxes.  Ebay guarantees.  Ebay does everything BUT OWN MERCHANDISE.  The sellers provide the merchandise, the wrapping labor and supplies, the actual shipping of a package, and the sellers suffer any uninsured losses while eBay tells us exactly how we will do it or we will be charged for the indiscretion.   So, in short it doesn't matter what I say or do because it is all meaningless.  I couldn't charge a customer for tax if I wanted to because EBAY handles the billing don't they? If you're going to attack me at least understand how eBay works.

I can't charge anybody for anything...those are way old terms that have no meaning because eBAY does all the charging, sends all the billing and includes in that billing what they will.   I couldn't charge taxes if I wanted to because I DON"T GET TO BILL A CUSTOMER... duh!

Let a customer file a complaint and it don't matter if YOU have a "return policy" or not... EBAY will refund and charge the seller's account.  There is no such thing as a seller dictating terms anymore.. eBay dictates all terms and enforces them.  Jeez you need to understand how this works.
