Ebay insatiable lust for money has propelled them into becoming the world's largest and most profitable greed machine on the planet. Apparently ebays shareholders are never satisfied with their grossly huge profits . Continually adding more fees and costs to use their platform. The latest brainstorm is managed payments. As if their ridiculous selling fees weren't enough now they hang onto the sellers profits for 3,4,5 days before distributing to the rightful owner. Collectively with millions of sellers these 3-5 days undoubtedly rack up millions in profits from interest alone. Will this greed machine ever be satisfied? Doubtful, money is the root of all evil and greed drives the heartbeat of ebay. Unfortunately it's also turned a once fair win win business into a complete ripoff. Very sad for sellers.

The absence of money is the root of a lot of evil as well. 😊

"Went to the Doctor last month. He asked me how I was doing. Got the bill.... that question cost me 18.00 as a wellness check."
I went to the doctor last month and they asked me the same question. I said "The pain was somewhere near my back left pocket. Oh, the pain is in my wallet Doc!".

Ebay has stated on multiple occasions and in multiple locations that they do not collect interest on the buyers pending funds. If anyone does it would be Adyen as they are the actual payment processors for Ebay and that is presumably how they earn their income.
Exactly, you are right.

@kaw-kru-900 The latest brainstorm is managed payments.
This brainstorm was rolled out in 2018, you must have missed all the announcements and information regarding MP in the last 3 years provided to every seller on eBay.
You do NOT have to sign up for MP - you just can't sell here if you don't
I have been imported from Australia and this is my posting ID

The only decent character in that awful book (well, Mrs Micawber was pretty cool, too).

OP says:
"As if their ridiculous selling fees weren't enough now they hang onto the sellers profits for 3,4,5 days before distributing to the rightful owner."
Well, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or something right because I had two of my items sell this past Sunday, December 19. One of those sales was an auction and one was a Buy It Now. Both buyers paid within an hour after their commitments to buy.
I had the money in my checking account on Tuesday, December 21. I don't call that "3,4,5 days" that I have to wait for the distribution of my "rightful" earnings.
Oh. One more thing. That title, "Fee's", does not need an apostrophe.

I must be doing something wrong too....
On Paypal, it took 3-4 days (longer if the transfer "day" started on a Friday and I had to count the weekend) to transfer from PayPal to my bank. So...with a weekend in there, it could be 5-6 days before I had my money. Note...it works the same number of days transferring money from my bank to PP.
On Managed Payments, I have a weekly transfer set up on Tuesday. Usually by Thursday morning, I have my money. I don't know about you, but my 1st grade math transfer rate went down 1-5 days...
Definitely doing something wrong...

Tagging on:
Our OP berates eBay for making a profit. Does our OP make a profit on the things he sells? Is he willing to open his books so we can all judge whether he is a "Greed machine"?
Anybody that wants to tell me how much profit I can make, can go kick rocks.
I've received 21 pay outs so far for the month of December. That's hardly 3-5 days as described by our OP

So when are you taking your listings down and going to your perfect online selling platform?

well the way I see it...eBay is not for everyone and no one is forcing you to use this site.
However, if you are so unhappy with eBay why are you still listing & selling here?
Your sales would indicate things can't be that bad and $ is rolling your way, so doesn't that mean you also walk amongst those wanting to make $??
I see this thread as simply a rant about having to pay fees for a service.
