Re: Fee's

@sweetsummer2021   Welcome to eBay selling..

Everyone pays the same fees, well roughly..

They vary based on category, listing upgrades, if you have a store and so on.

You will pay FVF on item, shipping and any sales tax.

Always take fees into account when you price your items.

Are you including shipping cost in that? Because shipping isn't actually a fee.

In simplest terms, it's all there is. Good luck to you here.

It is about average.  There are a few ways to be impactful to reduce overall fvfs, but not much.

We find it to be less than other sites, on average, etc

It depends.....depends on a number of things.

First off, how are you calculating the fee percentage? There are many ways to do it, they can all be right but without knowing the method it's not easy to determine if the raw percentage you give is high, low or normal.

One thing to keep in mind, the lower the selling price of an item the higher the fee percentage will be, the difference isn't huge unless you are selling very low value items.

It would also be different if you were using any of the listing options that you pay for.

You pay fees on the total amount of the sale including shipping and sales tax charged to the buyer, the fee percentage will vary a bit between a sale you make to a State with high Sales Tax as opposed to a State with low or no Sales Tax. You are in Florida, eBay didn't start collecting Sales Tax on Sales to buyers in FL until July 1st of this year so any sales to FL prior to that would have lower fees than a sale today.

Lots of different factors so figuring the "normal" is not a simple matter.

Between 18% and 20% of what?

Questions like this are not really answerable without being give the entire picture of the transaction and your business model:

Are you selling under managed payments, or eBay?

What was the itme price?

How much did you charge for shipping?

How much did shipping cost?

Was there sales tax?

Did you pay isnertion fees or listing upgrades?

Did you promote your listing?

What category was it in?

Do you have a store subscription and if so what level is it?

Re: Fee's

Thanks!! You really gave me some good ideas. I went into the seller hub  and clicked on the performance for this year and I got the 20.3% fees. I've sold 103 items and my average is $68.88 per item.  I'm not aware that I am using any costly fees on my listings, I just do the normal post, I think.  I am happy being able to use ebay, I'm just basically selling my kids 30 year old toys that I kept in original boxes, and having fun doing it actually!!  Now, they want them back!!  My only frustration with ebay is that they don't seem to punish the bad buyers?  I had a buyer order an appliance part from me. Then claimed it was missing a wire but refused to send a picture to me. Though I don't accept returns, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he shipped a completely different part that he bought somewhere else back to me, and kept my factory authorized part. (he was so stupid, he sent the part in the same box with his name & address on it from another company)  Ebay said they reimbursed me, but I couldn't find proof of that. But, they did refund the buyer.

Again,,,Thanks for your time!!

Re: Fee's

Can you show us an example of a sold listing where your final value fee was as high as 20%?
