Why do we need E-Bay managing our payments? I was doing just fine without them butting in and wanting to take control of "MY" business. It is not theirs, I am paying for a service, way too much for that service by the way. As if 10% of my sale is not enough, and then another 10% on the shipping charges, and now they want to jack it up to 12.35%, why not just put a gun to my head, your robbing me anyway! I am a small time seller, I cannot afford the 10%, let alone 12.35. And they really do not need access to my bank account. Who in the hell do they think they are? They charge me for listing it, they charge me for selling it, they charge me for shipping it, and Pay-Pal charges me fro processing it. There is none left for me unless I jack my prices sky high, and then they get more of that. I cannot be competitive with these kind of fee's. I might have to go to Amazon if this keeps up.

You don't "need" eBay managing your payments. But what you "need" is not how eBay makes decisions.
As if 10% of my sale is not enough, and then another 10% on the shipping charges, and now they want to jack it up to 12.35%
Before Managed Payments, you were giving 10% to eBay and 2.9% to PayPal. That adds up to 12.9%.
They charge me for listing it
Not if you choose not to pay them for listing it.
Pay-Pal charges me fro processing it
Under Managed Payments, PayPal does not process your payments and you pay them nothing.
I might have to go to Amazon if this keeps up.
I would have a look at Amazon's fees before I went there. Oh, and they want access to your bank account too.

Spouting off about nothing, is getting you no where. If you want to leave, have at it. It's your problem, not eBay's if you can't figure out how to make money.
Want to run to Amazon? Go ahead. You'll find out how green the grass really IS on the other side. Good luck getting ungated in collectibles. Good luck getting ungated in many categories.
Everyone wants to keep cursing at eBay, but who else is offering the traffic and sales that are offered here? The complainers are out of touch. No platform with anywhere CLOSE to this traffic, isn't charging fees. No platform that handles your payment processing, is doing it without your bank and personal information.
Those that can't get along with it, are free to quit/leave. Go peddle junk in a yard sale, at least that is cash and you are left with nothing to complain about except poor sales.

Plus a percentage of the shipping (I do not know why, they do nothing for that) and if you read E-Bays fine print, they are charging for what Pay-Pal did, even thought they own Pay-Pal, they decided to collect that fee themselves.

Spoken as a true company employee. How much do they pay you for that?

1. eBay assesses fees on shipping and handling because of guys like me - we used to decrease the selling price and overload shipping and handling to avoid those fees.
2. eBay does not own PayPal. They were fully spun off long ago.

That is not an eBay employee responding to you. If it was, he would have waited two days to respond, with a simple message of “we’ve ruled in favor of the buyer.”

If you can't make it on ebay then you definitely won't make it on the river. Your failure to make a profit is on you and products you select for sale. 15% of a sale is better than selling at an Auction, in a Consignment Shop, or to a Pawn Shop. Stick to Yard Sales if you want no fees.

Why are all of you so **bleep** rude? You are on this forum to help people solve their problems NOT to talk down to them and failing to offer them the help they are looking for.
If you got nothing good to say you should keep your useless opinions to yourself!!

The OP has a problem that only they can solve: they can stay, or they can go. They vented; they ALSO posted false information about fees. People pointed out the errors, and also stated that the OP has a clear choice.
It's a discussion board; telling people to keep their opinions to themselves is against community guidelines.

There is no "help" to be offered to someone complaining about being required to use MP or the fee structure. There is no "help" we can offer about selling on other platforms.
I CAN offer a dose of reality. You control what merchandise you offer for sale, and at what price you offer to sell it at. You control if you want to sell it on eBay's platform. Crying and complaining is not going to get eBay to see things your way, and run their platform how YOU would like it. While eBay has flaws and problems, it's the best there is at this point and you can't complain about the traffic, sales, and opportunity that they offer. Selling at a local auction house, with WAY LESS eyeballs, is going to cost you 20-50% of the selling price. 12% is a bargain.
While you may not like it, there is no point to these type of threads. The posters would be farther ahead, trying to figure out being more profitable, rather than complaining. You can build your business, or you can complain. Wonder which put more money in your pocket?

In fairness, OP came here to spread negativity. She should not be surprised that people didn’t shower her with rainbows and glitter.
seriously- OP needed some straight talk.

Without it, you couldn't sell here anymore.

I am sure being rude and belittling people is also against the guidelines.
