I'm currently auctioning off a piece of art that I expect to sell for a minimum of US$1000, I see on eBay's help section US$999 is the maximum insurable value via eBay labels, however it says nothing of the nature w/ FedEx- does anyone know the maximum value I can ensure w/ FedEx before it has to go white glove service? I've used FedEx for all my expensive items, and they are the best, IMO. If the maximum value is US$999 with FedEx too then I'll probably just ship it w/ UPS by purchasing the label from Endicia.
I'm planning to require an adult signature (to ensure the driver doesn't sign for it, lol) & ill either send it 2Day or express saver, I haven't decided yet.
Any guidance is appreciated. Sorry if this is a dumb question, most of my orders are under 100$ so I send them via USPS and don't insure them- I also don't usually print labels on eBay but there's no FedEx integration on my software (and to print them direct from FedEx costs an absurd amount.)

Everything you want to know and more is on their website. 1st $100 is covered, and it's like $1.00 for every 100$ after that. Do you have a FedEx shipping center near you? They can wrap it also for you as I've had this done and it was superb.
Please use caution with this art auction, some scammers believe they have some class go after the finer things and leave the scam auto thieves in the dust! Best to you!

Please be careful with your listings also -
I noticed the first art work has a bid, so the BIN price you may have set is no longer visible, but on the other one there are no bids and you have a BIN of $2,229.99 and a start price of $259.99
The BIN is not a reserve, so if you only get one bidder at $260.00 you will have to sell it for that price.

Yea I know they aren't reserves. The BIN prices are significantly above the estimated value. I got these from my grandfather who apparently bought them for 300-400$ each and there's nothing about either of them anywhere online so it's kind of an "I'll take whatever I can get" type of situation.

Thanks. Do you know how much they charge for it? I'm ~25mins from a FedEx office so I'm wondering if it's worth the drive + $$? I guess having a FedEx employee pack it could help if the customer claims they got an empty box too.

Here's some good info.
https://www.fedex.com/en-us/shipping/declared-value.html
And yes if this is the service you want to go with, have them pack it. They provide the box and packing material and include it in the entire cost. As I remember it wasn't a large amount but for this sale of yours it will be worth it.

5K is the limit for USPS on eBay and if you go into the USPS office 50K is the limit.

I noticed in your listing text that you specify no returns. Be aware that as a seller on eBay this does NOT mean no refunds. Many a seller has made that mistake and assumption. You may want to read over the MBG again and fully understand what seller does not accept returns actually means.

Are you absolutely certain that you've chosen the best venue to list your item?

Yea I know. I meant no returns due to buyers remorse etc. The reasons they can return for regardless of it I accept returns are INR and INAD, right?

Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind but I’m leaning toward FedEx
