So the buyer pays for my item without properly reading the title or description and then starts a cancellation request. I've taken clear photos with the appropriate description so I message the buyer telling them it will be shipped soon. He receives the item 6 days after ordering it and then makes a return request with the reason "Just didn't like it" which I easily declined.
Finally after failing all other options he starts a chargeback with his bank where of course the buyer falsely claimed "The item doesn't match the description in your listing" but I didn't expect the buyer's bank to side with me so fast.

That's what I call an "Open and shut" case . Lol
Bravo!

I think it would have been easier to just cancel the order when they asked.

Seriously. There's no good reason to decline a cancellation request when you haven't yet shipped the item. It only results in problems.

You were lucky this time, real lucky. Next time just cancel the order if it has not shipped.
NEVER send a buyer something they don't want.

Wow... you lucked out! Now that it's behind you, you might want to put that buyer on your BBL...

@petes_toy_den
What information did you include when contesting the chargeback?

Glad this turned out well for you, but I'd have to agree with everyone else, much better to honor the cancel request and save yourself potential grief.

Hi, Good for you. But, we here in New Jersey would have likely just cancelled. Dont' always want a buyer to have an item that they really dont' want - Not here to make any enemies. IMHO Of-Course. Happy Selling!!

Yeah, I have to agree with the others.
You got lucky. But in the future if you haven't shipped it, just cancel while you have control of the situation. All this does is make an angry buyer, whether its their mistake or not, pushing the issue is only going to escalate the problem.
The financial institution also may have sided with the seller if this buyer has done this too many times before.
