I sold an item, eBay is holding the pay out for over a month. Why would it need to be held a month????
I contacted buyer, no complaints. So then why is eBay holding my money for over a month???
If ebay is holding my funds for over 30 days for a legitimate sale then eBay should be paying interest on the amount of money they are holding.
The extortion to buy into eBay's rapid pay is now a legal matter - eBay, extortion is illegal in the USA.

Sorry this happens for both new and infrequent or returning sellers.
Here's some info about holds:https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=481...
It's not extortion, you agree to this in the terms when you sign up to sell.

It's not extortion. You agreed to it when you became a member. If you didn't know that, you have a lot of reading and catching up to do.

You had one sale in April, and one in May, and before that, none for a year. That makes you an infrequent seller, subject to holds. You shouldnt throw 'extortion' around so quickly.

What's that old news have to do with your inability to understand basic Terms & Conditions.....These holds are clearly spelled out when you list...right next to the Submit Button and on the Help pages....
OK...we all don't look at all that stuff until we are 'forced' to, but you know now.......
BTW...you can't sell a couple items for 20 bucks and then sell a 4 figure item without a hold over a 6 month period.....
Just FYI...the simple interest (at a decent rate) on your 49.95 sale is about .13 a month....

Is it the $2000 poster?
Yes, they will hold the funds for 30 days since it sold for more then $1000.
A couple years ago, they started holding funds for 30 days for items that sold for $1000 or more.

Try to get on Judge Judy - you'll get a free round trip airplane ride, hotel stay, nice dinner and breakfast. But the odds are you won't win not even 1 "Yankee Dime or plug nickel.
See you have yet to read the Terms and Conditions of that eBay's User Agreement that you signed over the internet in 2023 and sold a few things along the way every now and then.

So then why is eBay holding my money for over a month???
@artmusicandtrash
This is for eBay's protection. It doesn't make the transaction any safer for a buyer since they are covered by the eBay "Money Back Guarantee". It doesn't matter if your money is held or not from the buyer's standpoint. It is to make sure you are not a crook if you are new, or had your account hijacked by a crook while you were gone for a while, among other things that would cause eBay to have to pay out instead of charging it to you.
