I'm getting a downright bizarre error message when attempting to list an item. It reads "The shipping rate table ID value false is not valid for the specified type (domestic/international) and/or site"
I've never seen this before. I tried switching to different shipping methods and back again, double checking everything to ensure it was correct and even saving a draft and "relisting" (which usually works with error messages) and nothing helps. Does this look familiar to anyone? I just don't know what it wants me to do...

I think it might have something to do with the new Business Policies section that they're trying to implement? I don't know....I just tried to opt out of that but it didn't help me when I tried to post a listing afterward....pretty confusing!

I had never "opted in" Tried to Opt in to see if I could figure it out and it told me to check back in 8 hours. I wish Ebay would leave it alone when its not broken. I guess this is just another attemt to be more like Amazon?

When I read the policies section, I think they may have opted in on some of the policies automatically for us using some of our own shipping history, etc., and now if our current listing doesn't match up, it won't let us list 'til we fix it, or something like that....so I was hoping that opting out for now would let me continue to list, but it didn't work so far.....I just posted about the problem on a Facebook forum to see if anyone there can help in the meantime, otherwise, I guess eBay will be getting lots of phone calls in a few hours!

OK, I figured out what to do, at least it worked for the listing that I was having trouble getting listed as I kept getting this error message.
I had to go in to my business policies and creat a specific shipping "rule" that fit my listing.
I clicked on Sell at the top of the eBay page,
Then on the left hand column under Settings I clicked on Business Policies,
Then on that page, I clicked on Create A Policy and chose the Shipping option.
Once there, I created a shipping policy, in my case, for $2.99 Media Mail only as I was trying to list just one VHS tape when this whole thing occurred. I saved that preference.,
Then, I went back to my "problem" listing and now in the shipping area there was a pull down menu and I could choose $2.99 Media Mail shipping.
Once I chose that I was able to list my item with no problem.
I hope this info helps anyone who needs it! There may be a simpler way, but I don't know yet what it is!
Good luck to everyone!

Their Tech dept is working on it. I started a brand new listing from scratch (NOT sell similar) and it's working. The photo edit seems to be glitching now but this is better than nothing! Maybe I'll get a discount this month from their fees/commissions!?! ($350 this month! on a basic store!)

Ok .... So I took the other guys suggeston. Copied and pasted everything to a new fresh listing NOT USING SELL SIMILAR. It worked. Item listed no problem. I think we may have gotten caught in the coder gremlins lare. Fresh listing. Problem solved. Hope this problem wont keep popping up.

I wonder if they are rolling out the flat rates by region now?
